This role assists the Chief Engineer and ensures compliance with maintenance standards to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.\nEssential Functions and Duties:\nProvide professional and courteous guest service at all times. \nSupervise maintenance operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, A/C units, emergency generators, lighting, and kitchen equipment. \nMonitor energy consumption (electric, gas, oil, water) and manage resources efficiently. \nOversee inventory levels, place supply orders, and maintain accurate records of usage and purchases. \nEnsure that all contracted services (electrical, plumbing, cleaning) meet hotel standards and expectations. \nAssist with staff scheduling, training, and supervision of maintenance associates. \nEnsure timely and accurate completion of maintenance projects according to specifications. \nWork closely with Housekeeping and Security to coordinate activities and maintain key inventory. \nMaintain ongoing preventative maintenance programs for all hotel spaces and equipment. \nCover departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Engineer. \nInteract with city agencies to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. \nMaintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and storage areas. \nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\nRequired Experience, Education, and Skills:\nMinimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance operations. \nStrong knowledge of systems, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls. \nExperience supervising maintenance staff and coordinating projects. \nAbility to manage inventory, monitor energy consumption, and ensure compliance with maintenance standards. \nExcellent problem-solving and organizational skills. \nStrong communication skills for working with staff, management, and external stakeholders. \nWork Environment:\nWork involves both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures. \nFrequent walking, standing, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. \nExposure to noise and vibration from mechanical equipment during maintenance tasks. \nMust be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, with potential on-call responsibilities for emergencies. \nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the team member for this job.
