Working under the guidance of the Banquet Chef, Executive Chef, or Sous Chef, the Banquet Cook ensures all assigned duties are completed to provide guests with exceptional culinary experiences.\nEssential Functions and Duties:\nPrepare ingredients and dishes in accordance with scheduled shifts (AM/PM) and menu items. \nEnsure all food is prepared, cooked, and stored safely, following Serve-Safe methods. \nOperate your station efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines. \nFollow kitchen opening and closing procedures. \nMaintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times. \nPrepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards. \nManage guest orders in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner. \nMonitor food stock and replenish as needed to keep workstations fully stocked. \nFollow instructions (written or verbal) from supervisors or chefs. \nMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to the dress code. \nUse proper knife handling and cooking techniques to prepare pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. \nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\nRequired Experience, Education, and Skills:\nAssociate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and training. \nKnowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety procedures. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment. \nAbility to use cooking metrics and conversion methods for measurements. \nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. \nSafe Serve/Food Handler’s Card required. \nWork Environment:\nPrimarily a kitchen environment with varying temperatures. \nFrequent exposure to cleaning chemicals. \nMinimal to moderate noise levels consistent with a hotel kitchen setting. \nExerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and up to 20 lbs. frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull items. \nStanding and walking for extended periods or entire shifts. \nAbility to work long, flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. \nMust be able to handle the physical demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment. \nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the team member for this job.
