JOB SUMMARY\nProvides technical and operational support to Supplier Quality activities by performing incoming material inspections, measurements, containment activities, documentation and follow-up of supplier quality issues.\nSupports Supplier Quality Engineers in maintaining supplier quality performance and ensuring purchased components comply with established quality requirements.\n2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform inspection and verification of incoming components and materials according to drawings, specifications, control plans and established inspection criteria.\nPerform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.\nSupport containment and sorting activities related to supplier quality issues.\nIdentify, document, segregate and control nonconforming supplier material.\nSupport MRB activities by providing inspection results, measurements and evidence.\nMaintain accurate inspection records and supplier quality documentation.\nSupport Supplier Quality Engineers in the investigation of supplier-related quality issues.\nCollect data, samples, pictures, measurements and other evidence required for problem-solving activities and supplier claims.\nSupport SCAR and 8D follow-up by maintaining records and verifying implementation of corrective actions as directed by the Supplier Quality Engineer.\nPerform verification inspections after supplier corrective actions or containment activities.\nSupport PPAP activities through dimensional inspection, sample verification and documentation.\nSupport incoming inspection requirements for new product launches and engineering changes.\nAssist Supplier Quality Engineers during supplier audits and supplier development activities.\nSupport supplier performance data collection and reporting.\nCommunicate detected supplier quality issues to the Supplier Quality Engineer and appropriate internal functions.\nSupport production areas when supplier-related material issues affect manufacturing operations.\nFollow applicable Quality Management System, safety and environmental requirements.\n3. EDUCATION\nTechnical degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics or related technical field.\nEngineering studies in progress or completed are desirable.\n4. EXPERIENCE\n1-3 years of experience in Quality, Incoming Inspection, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality or related functions.\nAutomotive manufacturing experience desirable.\nExperience inspecting components such as plastics, metals, electronic components or assemblies is desirable.\n5. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE\nPractical knowledge of dimensional and visual inspection.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.\nBasic to intermediate knowledge of GD&T.\nExperience using measuring equipment such as: CalipersMicrometersHeight gaugesPin gaugesProfile projectorsSurface finish testersCMM, desirable\nBasic knowledge of SPC.\nBasic knowledge of MSA and measurement systems.\nBasic knowledge of PPAP and APQP.\nBasic knowledge of 8D and problem-solving methodologies.\nUnderstanding of nonconforming material control and MRB processes.\nBasic knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastics, metals or electronics is desirable.\nMicrosoft Office.\nMinitab knowledge is desirable.\nEnglish: Basic to Intermediate.\n6.
