As we continue to invest in our ambitious development programme following our recent £350 million grant allocation from the Social and Affordable Homes Programme, we're looking for a commercially minded and analytically driven Development Finance Manager to join our Finance team and help shape investment decisions that make a real difference to communities across the UK.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our development programme, partnering with colleagues across Finance and Development to provide insight, challenge, and financial expertise that supports sustainable growth and delivers value for money.\nThe Role\nReporting to the Head of Business Partnering, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of our development programme by evaluating scheme appraisals, analysing investment opportunities, and providing robust financial challenge to support strategic decision-making. You'll also lead and develop a Capital Accountant, helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial reporting and business partnering services.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs our Development Finance Manager, you will:\nAssess development scheme appraisals and undertake post-development reviews to ensure schemes deliver strong financial and social value.\n\nPartner closely with Development teams to support investment decisions and maximise value across the development programme.\n\nIdentify financial risks and opportunities, including contractor exposure and programme performance, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.\n\nDevelop financial models and programme forecasts to support strategic planning and growth ambitions.\n\nProduce monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and performance reporting for Development leadership teams.\n\nSupport annual audits, statutory accounts preparation and impairment reviews across development schemes.\n\nWork with the Development Programme team on Homes England grant audits and compliance requirements.\n\nContribute to the organisation's long-term business planning, including supporting the 30-year business plan.\n\nDrive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and management reporting.\n\nLine manage and develop a Capital Accountant, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.\n\nAbout You\nWe're looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent business partnering skills.\nEssential\nPart-qualified accountant nearing qualification, with relevant experience.\n\nExperience of development finance, development appraisals and finance business partnering.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n\nAdvanced Excel and systems skills.\n\nExcellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting financial information to stakeholders.\n\nUnderstanding of social housing finance and the wider challenges facing the sector.\n\nAbility to influence decisions through robust analysis and constructive challenge.\n\nDesirable\nFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).\n\nExperience of development forecasting systems such as Pamwin.\n\nExperience of finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics F&O.\n\nPrevious line management experience.\n\nIf you're passionate about development finance, strategic decision-making and creating positive social impact, we'd love to hear from you.\nJob Description - Development Finance Manager\nAppointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (if applicable), satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.\nThis role may require specific qualifications, skills, knowledge, and behaviours to meet the Competence and Conduct Standard for Social Housing.
