You will be a senior individual contributor with strong ownership over design and delivery, partnering directly with trading, operations, compliance, and global engineering teams.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build, and operate scalable, resilient, low-latency-tolerant systems that support StoneX's LATAM business lines. The role exists to raise the engineering bar on regional platforms, improving reliability, reducing manual operational load, and delivering the integrations and features required by local market structure and regulation, while aligning to StoneX global architecture standards.\nPrimary duties will include:\nDesign and implement backend services and APIs supporting trading, clearing, settlement, and reporting workflows for LATAM markets.\nOwn features end to end: requirements refinement with business stakeholders, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.\nBuild and maintain integrations with exchanges, clearinghouses, market data providers, and internal global platforms (FIX, REST, messaging, file-based protocols).\nDevelop data pipelines and reconciliation processes feeding regulatory and internal reporting (CVM/B3, CNBV, and equivalents).\nContribute to architecture decisions and technical documentation (ADRs, runbooks, integration specs); evaluate trade-offs on build vs. buy and global vs. regional solutions.\nImprove observability, automated testing, and CI/CD maturity across owned services; reduce toil through automation.\nParticipate in code reviews and set standards for code quality, security, and performance within the team.\nSupport incident response for production systems, including root-cause analysis and preventive follow-up.\nMentor mid-level and junior engineers; act as technical reference for a domain or set of services.\nCoordinate with distributed teams across the US, UK, and Asia; including working across time zones and in English.\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management deems necessary.\nQualifications\nTo land this role you will need:\nProfessional software engineering experience, with demonstrated senior-level ownership of production systems.\nStrong proficiency in at least one of: C#/.NET, Java, or Python; solid working knowledge of a second language.\nSolid grounding in SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle), including query tuning and data modeling.\nExperience designing and consuming APIs and integrating distributed systems; familiarity with messaging/streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQ) and event-driven patterns.\nCloud experience (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).\nPractical experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), automated testing, and monitoring/observability tooling.\nProfessional working proficiency in English (written and spoken); fluent Portuguese and/or Spanish.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred\nFinancial services or capital markets background, brokerage, clearing, asset management, exchange, or fintech.\nDomain knowledge of trading lifecycle, post-trade operations, market data, or risk; familiarity with FIX protocol.\nExposure to LATAM market structure and regulation: B3, CVM, ANBIMA, SELIC/CETIP, CNBV, or local payments/settlement rails.\nExperience with regulatory or financial reporting pipelines and data reconciliation at scale.\nInfrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and performance/latency-sensitive system design.\nExperience working in a global matrixed organization with offshore/nearshore delivery models.\nWorking environment:\nSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.\nFull time (Monday to Friday), with an indefinite contract.\nHybrid setting: 4 days in-office and 1 day from home.\nNotice to Recruitment Agencies: Please be advised that any résumé or CV submitted to us without: (i) prior onboarding with StoneX as an approved recruitment partner; and (ii) prior written authorization/instruction from StoneX’s Talent Acquisition Team, will be treated as an unsolicited and unapproved submission.
