From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.\nResponsibilities\nJob Purpose: To lead and develop StoneX's global Database Administration team while driving the adoption of modern database platforms, automation, DevOps practices, and AI-enabled operational capabilities.\nThe successful candidate will oversee the delivery, reliability, security, and strategic direction of StoneX's database estate, with a particular focus on Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, cloud technologies, and database automation.\nThis role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to ensure the database platform continues to support the firm's growth, innovation, and regulatory requirements.\nPrimary duties will include:\nPartner with the EMEA/APAC Team Lead to lead, mentor, and develop the US Database Administration team, ensuring operational excellence, technical growth, and successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Manage workload prioritization, project delivery, operational support, and on-call activities.\nDrive the strategic adoption and expansion of Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server across the organization.\nPartner with Architecture, Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, and Development teams to deliver scalable database solutions.\nDevelop and maintain database standards, governance, and operational best practices.\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual processes through scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code, and self-service capabilities.\nPromote the use of AI-assisted operational tooling to improve efficiency, monitoring, troubleshooting, and knowledge management.\nLead database modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, migrations, and platform upgrades.\nEnsure high availability, disaster recovery, security, compliance, and operational excellence across database platforms.\nProvide technical leadership during major incidents and critical projects.\nContribute to database roadmap planning and technology strategy.\nQualifications\nTo Land this role you will need:\nTechnical Skills\nStrong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.\nGood working knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability technologies.\nExperience supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments.\nExperience with Azure cloud platform.\nStrong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.\nExperience implementing database monitoring, observability, and operational tooling.\nKnowledge of database backup, disaster recovery, replication, and security best practices.\nFamiliarity with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar platforms.\nLeadership Skills\nProven experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical teams.\nDemonstrated ability to prioritize competing workloads and deliver multiple concurrent initiatives.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nExperience working with globally distributed teams.\nAbility to influence technical direction and drive organizational change.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExtensive PostgreSQL experience, including architecture and enterprise-scale deployments.\nExperience leading database platform modernization initiatives.\nExperience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience integrating AI tools into operational workflows, automation, monitoring, or support processes.\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments.\nFinancial services or highly regulated industry experience.\nKnowledge of Oracle/MongoDB Atlas or other NoSQL database technologies.\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out\nA track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams.\nExperience establishing database engineering and automation standards.\nDemonstrated success implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and self-service database platforms.\nExperience leveraging AI technologies to improve operational efficiency and team productivity.\nAbility to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership.\nStrong understanding of modern database ecosystems across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, cloud, and automation technologies.\nCertifications (Preferred)\nMicrosoft Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent)\nPostgreSQL Certifications\nTerraform Associate Certification\nMicrosoft SQL Server certifications\nWork environment:\nFTE type of contract\nOffice location in São Paulo -
