This position works closely with Production, Scheduling, Quality, Shipping, and Finishing personnel to prioritize work, communicate job requirements, monitor production status, and resolve issues that may impact customer delivery.\nThe Finishing Coordinator serves as a key communication link between the production floor and management and helps ensure that finishing activities align with production schedules, customer specifications, quality requirements, and company standards.\nPrimary Duties and Essential Functions\nCoordinate the daily workflow and priorities for finishing operations based on production schedules and customer due dates.\nReview production schedules, job travelers, work orders, and finish specifications to ensure requirements are understood before production begins.\nCommunicate job priorities, special instructions, and changes to Finishing Operators and other production personnel.\nMonitor the status of jobs throughout the finishing process and communicate potential delays or production concerns to appropriate personnel.\nCoordinate with Printing, Prepress, Scheduling, Quality, and Shipping to ensure a smooth flow of work through production.\nHelp determine the appropriate finishing process and sequence for jobs based on specifications, equipment capabilities, production requirements, and due dates.\nMonitor work-in-process and assist with prioritizing jobs to minimize downtime and meet customer deadlines.\nVerify that finished products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.\nIdentify quality, production, material, equipment, or scheduling issues and escalate concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager.\nAssist with troubleshooting production issues and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.\nEnsure job documentation, production paperwork, labels, counts, and other required information are accurate and complete.\nMonitor material requirements and communicate shortages or anticipated needs to the appropriate department.\nCoordinate rework, make ready requirements, and special finishing instructions as needed.\nAssist with maintaining accurate production counts and reporting information.\nCommunicate changes in job requirements or priorities promptly and accurately.\nHelp ensure equipment, work areas, and production materials are organized and maintained in accordance with company standards.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts related to productivity, quality, workflow, waste reduction, and customer service.\nAssist with training and provide work directions to Finishing personnel as assigned.\nPromote and maintain a safe working environment and ensure established safety procedures are followed.\nMaintain confidentiality of company, employee, customer, and production information.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nRequirements\nKnowledge of print manufacturing and finishing processes.\nAbility to understand job specifications and identify potential production concerns.\nAbility to prioritize work based on customer requirements and production schedules.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively with Production, Scheduling, Quality, Shipping, and Management.\nAbility to remain organized and effective while managing changing priorities.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to identify and communicate issues before they negatively affect production or delivery.\nAbility to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.\nPhysical Requirements & Environmental Conditions\nAbility to stand and walk throughout the production environment for extended periods.\nAbility to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the manufacturing facility.\nAbility to lift and carry materials and products as required by the position.\nAbility to work around manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, noise, and other typical production-environment conditions.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nPhysical requirements may vary based on the specific responsibilities and work area assigned. Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 21% to 50% of work time. \nIncumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time. \nIncumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision. \nIncumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. \nWork Environment\nThis position works primarily in a manufacturing and production environment and may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels, moving equipment, production materials, inks, adhesives, and other conditions typical of a print manufacturing facility.
