The operator is responsible for maintaining accurate production, quality, and waste records while safely operating the press and supporting equipment.\n3rd Shift - Sunday 10:00pm-7:00am, M-TH 12:00am - 7:00am.\nSet up and operate roll-fed printing presses according to job specifications and production requirements.\nReview job tickets, artwork, specifications, and production instructions prior to beginning each job.\nLoad and position raw materials, including rolls of paper, film, foil, and other substrates.\nInstall and adjust printing plates, cylinders, tooling, inks, and other press components as required.\nSet press speeds, registration, pressure, tension, temperature, and other operating parameters.\nMix, load, and adjust inks or coatings as required to achieve specified color and print quality.\nPerform press make-ready activities and obtain required approvals before full production.\nMonitor the press throughout production to ensure consistent quality, registration, color, and print coverage.\nInspect finished product for defects such as color variation, registration issues, wrinkles, streaks, poor print quality, or other abnormalities.\nMake adjustments to the press as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.\nComplete quality checks and documentation in accordance with company procedures.\nMonitor material usage and minimize waste while maintaining required quality standards.\nAccurately record production quantities, downtime, waste, and other required information.\nPerform routine cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping of the press and surrounding work area.\nIdentify equipment problems and communicate maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.\nFollow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.\nAssist with training and development of Press Operator trainees or other production employees as assigned.\nWork cooperatively with other departments, including Prepress, Quality, Maintenance, Finishing, and Shipping.\nFollow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQualifications\nPrevious manufacturing or production experience preferred.\nAbility to read and understand job tickets, work instructions, and production specifications.\nBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to make adjustments to production equipment.\nAbility to use basic measuring tools and production equipment.\nAbility to identify quality issues and take appropriate corrective action.\nBasic computer skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced production environment.\nPreferred\nPrevious experience operating a roll-fed printing press.\nFlexographic, digital, or other printing experience.\nExperience working in the label or packaging industry.\nExperience with inks, coatings, substrates, registration, and color matching.\nExperience performing press setups and changeovers.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.\nAbility to frequently bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and use hands and fingers to operate machinery and tools.\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment.\nAbility to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to quality and safety.\nWork Environment\nManufacturing/production environment.\nExposure to operating machinery, noise, inks, solvents, paper, film, and other production materials.\nMay require working overtime, weekends, or different shifts based on production requirements.\nMust follow all safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping requirements.\nAbout Us:\nBrook + Whittle is a leading North American manufacturer of premium prime label solutions with highly differentiated capabilities, entrusted by some of the most well-known brands.
