This role supports overall shop operations by managing assigned work orders and collaborating closely with Shop Supervisors, Service Managers, and fellow technicians to maintain workflow and meet customer expectations. The CCE Technician represents Stowers Machinery with professionalism in all interactions, both internally and during occasional customer engagements, while contributing to a high-performance, team-oriented service environment.\nKnowledge and Skill Requirements:\nUnderstanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.\nAbility to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.\nProficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair procedures.\nStrong communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with shop leadership.\nAbility to complete accurate documentation and follow established processes.\nKnowledge of safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop best practices.\nPreferred Qualification(s):\nExperience repairing specifically CCE equipment, diesel engines, or related machinery.\nFamiliarity with Caterpillar equipment and dealership service processes.\nCertifications in diesel technology, hydraulics, or equipment repair.\nEducation Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nTechnical training or an Associate degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment repair, or a related field preferred.\nEssential Job Functions:\nPerform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment.\nComplete preventative maintenance services including fluid changes, inspections, and adjustments.\nDocument all findings, parts used, and repair actions in work orders.\nCommunicate equipment condition and recommended repairs to supervisors.\nMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.\nFollow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.\nAssist with moving equipment in and out of the shop as needed.\nSupport warranty repair processes and proper documentation.\nLeadership Responsibilities:\nSupport less experienced technicians by sharing knowledge and proper repair techniques when needed.\nPromote a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment.\nAssist in training new technicians on procedures, documentation, and equipment operation.\nRepresent the shop positively through teamwork and professionalism.\nPreferred Experience and Skills:\nHands on experience with heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.\nStrong problem solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues.\nFamiliarity with Caterpillar service systems and diagnostic tools.\nAbility to work efficiently in a high volume shop environment.\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\nAbility to lift, carry, or move heavy components and tools as required.\nAbility to stand, bend, climb, or work in confined spaces for extended periods.\nAbility to wear required PPE in shop environments.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a fast paced setting.\nMust meet requirements for driving company vehicles if applicable.\nWork Environment:\nShop based role with regular exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions.\nFrequent interaction with technicians, supervisors, and parts personnel.\nFast paced environment requiring adaptability and strong communication.\nStandard work schedule with potential overtime during peak demand.\nMost work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required.
