Outreach We share the results of our successes with the community.\nStrata-G is seeking an experienced Senior Engineerwith the following:\nSummary:\nWe are seeking an experienced engineer for monitoring and assessing the technical quality, progress, and execution of major capital construction projects. This role provides independent engineering oversight throughout project planning, design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities, with significant involvement supporting the Lithium Processing Facility (LPF) project.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a technical resource to project management personnel, participate in design reviews, evaluate engineering solutions, and design changes, support the Request for Information (RFI) process, and provide objective assessments of project execution and technical risk.\nRequirements and Education:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.\nMinimum 10 years of engineering experience supporting large construction or capital projects exceeding $10 million in value.\nMinimum 5 years of experience supporting nuclear, chemical, or similarly regulated industrial facilities.\nDemonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively brief senior management and technical stakeholders.\nSelf-motivated, initiative-taking professional capable of working independently in a dynamic project environment.\nEngineering Review and Technical Assessment\nEvaluate engineering analyses, designs, specifications, calculations, and design changes for technical adequacy, regulatory compliance, and conformance with engineering standards and project requirements.\nAnalyze complex technical issues and evaluate alternative solutions to support effective decision-making and risk mitigation.\nServe as a technical resource in support of project planning, execution, and problem resolution activities.\n\nDesign Oversight and Configuration Management\nMonitor engineering and design activities throughout project development, including participation in 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews.\nAssess design products for quality, completeness, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.\nEvaluate configuration management processes to ensure design integrity and control throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nProject Execution Oversight\nMonitor procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with approved design requirements and quality standards.\nSupport assessment of contractor engineering processes, technical performance, and project execution practices.\n\nSystems Engineering and Quality Assurance\nWorking knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements development, requirements flow-down, interface management, verification, and validation.\nWorking knowledge of quality assurance requirements applicable to nuclear facilities, including implementation of NQA-1 principles in design, procurement, construction, and testing activities.\nWorking knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\nEngineering Experience\nDemonstrated experience developing or reviewing facility, process, utility, and support-system designs, including drawings, calculations, specifications, design modifications, and test documentation.\nRecognized engineering professional capable of exercising sound technical judgment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.\nExperience performing technical evaluations, studies, investigations, and analysis supporting project or facility operations.\n\nPreferred Requirements and Education:\nExperience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), or other federal capital projects.\nExperience with nuclear safety and safety basis documentation, including hazard analysis, documented safety analysis (DSA), technical safety requirements (TSRs), fire hazard analysis, and criticality safety analysis.\nDeep design engineering experience associated with major facility or process-system projects.\nExperience supporting project management, engineering, or owner organizations in oversight roles.\nWillingness to support a broad range of PMO activities and special assignments as project needs dictate.\nJob Type: Contract/Full-Time\nJob Location: Oak Ridge, TN.
