The role involves planning and executing Windows Server migrations, managing Active Directory and AWS infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence across cloud environments.\n\nResponsibilities : \n\nDiscovery and Planning : \n\n- Inventory Windows Servers, applications, dependencies, file shares, and network flows using AWS discovery tools.\n\n- Classify workloads by migration strategy and organize them into migration waves.\n\n- Define target architecture, sizing, licensing, storage, VPC placement, and security requirements.\n\nMigration Execution : \n\n- Migrate servers using AWS MGN or VM Import/Export.\n\n- Migrate file shares to Amazon FSx while preserving NTFS permissions and DFS namespaces.\n\n- Upgrade legacy Windows Server versions during migration.\n\n- Migrate IIS, .NET, and SQL Server workloads to AWS platforms.\n\n- Plan and execute cutovers, DNS changes, rollback procedures, and validation activities.\n\nActive Directory and Identity : \n\n- Extend or migrate Active Directory to AWS and manage trusts, DNS, and DHCP.\n\n- Administer Group Policies, OUs, service accounts, and gMSAs.\n\n- Integrate with Microsoft Entra ID, AWS IAM Identity Center, and automate domain joins.\n\nAWS Windows Operations : \n\n- Build, patch, and maintain Windows EC2 environments using AWS Systems Manager.\n\n- Monitor performance and troubleshoot Windows-related issues using CloudWatch and native tools.\n\n- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and restore testing.\n\n- Support secure remote access solutions where required.\n\nAutomation and Infrastructure as Code : \n\n- Provision infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.\n\n- Automate builds and configurations with PowerShell, DSC, or Ansible.\n\n- Maintain golden AMIs and support CI/CD-driven infrastructure deployments.\n\nSecurity and Compliance : \n\n- Implement Windows hardening, CIS benchmarks, LAPS, and endpoint protection.\n\n- Manage IAM permissions and enforce encryption standards.\n\n- Support compliance audits through AWS security and governance services.\n\nHypercare and Handover : \n\n- Provide post-migration support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.\n\n- Create runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documentation for operations teams.\n\nRequired qualifications : \n\n- 4+ years administering Windows Server (2012 R2 - 2022) in enterprise production environments.\n\n- Strong Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and file services (NTFS, SMB, DFS) experience.\n\n- 2+ years hands-on with AWS : EC2, VPC, EBS, FSx for Windows, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB, CloudWatch and Systems Manager.\n\n- Completed at least one on-prem to AWS migration, including server rehost with AWS MGN or an equivalent tool. Administration of IIS and supporting SQL Server hosts.\n\n- Strong PowerShell scripting; infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation.\n\n- Working knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V as a migration source.
