The world’s leading organizations turn to Stratasys to transform product design, bring agility to manufacturing and supply chains, and improve patient care.\nLocation\nNottingham\nPosition description\nStratasys is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead technical activities that improve products, manufacturing processes, quality, and production performance. This role supports New Product Introduction (NPI) and current product engineering by developing assembly processes, production-line layouts, BOM structures, labor-balancing plans, fixtures, and manufacturing metrics. You will partner across engineering, operations, supply chain, sourcing, logistics, and suppliers to solve complex production challenges and drive measurable improvements in cost, yield, quality, and cycle time. The position also represents the SAF business in Change Control Board meetings and provides technical guidance to junior engineering and operations employees.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:\nLead manufacturing engineering activities for new product introductions and current products, from early design through production readiness and ongoing support.\nPartner with mechanical, electrical, process, test, reliability, supply chain, sourcing, logistics, and supplier teams to resolve production issues and improve manufacturability.\nDevelop assembly processes, production-line layouts, labor-balancing plans, BOM structures, work instructions, and standardized assembly procedures.\nAnalyze prototype and production data to identify root causes, process-control limits, out-of-control conditions, and failure modes.\nDesign manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and related aids using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools; qualify solutions based on cycle-time improvements or cost savings.\nDevelop and sustain process improvements that reduce cost, improve throughput, and increase first-pass yield.\nRecommend component, material, tooling, process, and product-design changes that improve manufacturability and reliability.\nDrive Field Change Orders and Engineering Change Orders and represent the SAF business at Change Control Board meetings.\nPlan production-line setups for new products and platforms, assess capital-equipment needs, and prepare capital project requests for approval.\nDevelop and qualify supplier standards, processes, instrumentation, and external production materials.\nLead continuous-improvement initiatives and communicate requirements, progress, and ownership across teams.\nGuide and mentor junior engineering and operations employees on technical information, manufacturing processes, and requirements.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.\nFive or more years of experience in a technology hardware, electrical, software-based, or comparable production environment; or three or more years with an advanced degree.\nProficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software to create assembly jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids.\nDemonstrated experience with manufacturing process development, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, supply chain, sourcing, logistics, and supplier teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in engineering or a related field.\nExperience with statistical analysis and quantitative, data-driven problem-solving.\nExperience supporting NPI, change control, production-line design, capital-equipment planning, and supplier qualification.\nExperience mentoring engineers or operations employees and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.\nTravel required: Approximately 10%, including domestic, regional, and international travel.\nWe believe our people are the heart of our success.
