Core focus\nSignal propagation for 900 MHz wireless networks, using the EDX software package. This is a good portion of the role.\nCellular-connected devices that attach to the AMI system.\nDay to day\nWorking with field crews and vendors to deploy AMI equipment.\nConfiguring cellular devices for field deployment.\nSupporting the AMI network across the full deployment lifecycle.\nMust-have skills\n1. Strong communication skills\n2. Working understanding of IP networking (expert level not required)\n3. Solid organizational skills\nNice-to-have skills\nWireless/cellular experience\nBroader networking background (CCNA/CCNP not required)\nPosition Summary:\nEntry level role with conceptual knowledge in job discipline but with little experience; Installs basic hardware, systems and software for network and/or security components.\nBuilds capability to develop scripts that facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes; Documents activities, events, materials and issues.\nPrepares system performance or configuration reports as required.\nUpdates procedures. Provides input regarding processes and procedures that will enhance effectiveness. Participates in the evaluation of new hardware and software packages.\nParticipates in the implementation of data/system security processes including access controls, monitoring software, and generation of security reports;\nAssists with troubleshooting network and services performance.\nMonitors network performance and implements performance tuning; Performs root cause analysis of simple problems and tracks and reports to supervisor; Helps manage and ensure quality of low risk/impact network installations or enhancements (e.g., coordinating meetings, tracking budget, following up on action items);\nBasic knowledge of network routing protocols.\nBasic understanding of routing and switching technology, IP, and signaling.\nBasic knowledge of the ITIL framework.
