Projects may include mechanical, electrical, controls, civil/structural, and commercial building facilities work.\nThe ideal candidate has extensive construction supervision experience, strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and controls, and the ability to coordinate contractors safely and efficiently in an operating power plant environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nOversee contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.\n\nPromote a zero-accident safety philosophy and monitor compliance with applicable work rules, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.\n\nInspect ongoing construction activities to verify quality, contractor performance, and compliance with approved plans and specifications.\n\nReview project designs to identify potential changes and coordinate with contract personnel to review and approve contract change notices.\n\nIdentify critical construction activities and potential schedule impacts, implementing appropriate follow-up actions.\n\nAssist with the preparation of field installation subcontract packages, scopes of work, and construction work packages.\n\nSupport bidding, evaluation, and award of work packages for facility improvements, renovations, and new construction.\n\nAssign work and responsibilities to contractors and subcontractors and monitor progress against project schedules and productivity estimates.\n\nParticipate in regularly scheduled meetings to review contractor progress, critical-path activities, and schedule performance.\n\nAssist with construction planning, scheduling, outage coordination, and project execution.\n\nMonitor project performance across safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance, quality control, commissioning, cost, and schedule requirements.\n\nCoordinate construction and maintenance activities involving electrical systems, controls, pumps, fans, valves, HVAC systems, piping, underground utilities, excavations, roofing, fire protection systems, concrete, drywall, and other facility improvements.\n\nWork with contract administrators and project personnel to support contract requirements and manage contractor performance.\n\nUse computerized work management systems to track and coordinate construction activities.\n\nPerform additional duties and special assignments as directed by management.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum high school diploma or equivalent.\n\nConstruction management training.\n\n10-15 years of experience in heavy facility construction, commercial construction, or construction management.\n\nApproximately 10 years of related or equivalent experience in electrical systems and controls within a commercial environment, as specified in the position requirements.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of electrical systems and controls.\n\nExperience supervising contractors and subcontractors in a construction environment.\n\nExperience preparing scopes of work, developing budget estimates, and working with contract administrators.\n\nKnowledge of applicable construction codes and standards, including:\nNational Electrical Code (NEC)\n\nASME standards\n\nASTM standards\n\nOSHA construction and general industry requirements\n\nExperience with construction planning, scheduling, and outage coordination.\n\nAbility to coordinate multiple construction disciplines and projects simultaneously.\n\nStrong leadership, organizational, communication, and team-building skills.\n\nExperience using computerized work management systems.\n\nAbility to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required, particularly during planned or forced outages.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCollege degree in a relevant discipline.\n\nAssociate of Applied Science degree or relevant education from a technical or military trade school.\n\nExperience as a general contractor or mechanical contractor.\n\nRelevant general workforce contractor (GWC) license or Journeyman Electrician qualification.\n\nBachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience, as specified in the position requirements.\n\nExperience working at power generation stations, industrial facilities, utilities, or other complex operating environments.\n\nWork Environment\nOnsite work at Big Bend Power Plant in Apollo Beach, Florida.\n\nWork may take place indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, inclement weather, and elevated noise levels.\n\nMust be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when needed for planned outages, forced outages, and other project requirements.\n\nTravel may be required to other company locations, including Bayside and Polk Power Stations and commercial building sites throughout Hillsborough and Polk counties.\n\nKey Competencies\nBuilds strong, collaborative
