As an Emergency Telecommunications Operator, you serve on the front lines of public safety, providing calm, professional support during emergencies and non-emergency events. By rapidly assessing situations, collecting essential information, dispatching emergency services, and monitoring police communications, you play a vital role in keeping the community safe.\nKey Responsibilities:\nFirst response to incoming 911 Emergency, Complaint, Administrative and Enforcement Services telephone lines \nGathers and distributes information, and monitors radio and telephone communication \nProvide clients with advice and direction to appropriate resources and respond to after-hours Help Phone \nReceive, dispatch and prepare files, as well as process complaints and inquiries \nPerform data entry into RCMP and Enforcement Services data systems \nAdd, modify, remove, distribute and respond to CPIC requests \nMaintain files/records and monitor building security via camera system \nMonitor and update officer status \nQualifications and Skills:\nPost-secondary education or certificate in Emergency Communications and Response and four (4) years related experience preferably working in a policing environment \nProficiency in RCMP software and equipment (PROS, CPIC, ROADS, JOIN, CIIDS, ROSS) \nPROS End Users certification is an asset \nWorking knowledge of RCMP and Strathcona County policies and procedures, criminal code, federal and provincial statues, municipal bylaws, the Canadian legal system and court documents \nStrong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) \nAbility to maintain a professional image, respect confidentiality, while exercising judgement and objectivity \nExcellent time management and decision-making skills, with the ability to multi-task and remain focused under stressful conditions \nAbility to work independently, as well as part of a team \nConditions of Employment:\nAbility to obtain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance\n\nWho We Are:\nStrathcona County is a specialized municipality located in the heart of Alberta.
