Apply today to join our team and make a positive impact on our community.\nThis posting is for 1 temporary full-time position up to 12 months\nKey Responsibilities:\nBuild and lead a talented team focused on delivering high-quality programs, leading the team through change management and conduct crucial conversations when required\nSupervise, guide and support the recreation program team to program activities in our indoor recreation facilities\nProvide clear communication to support positive guest services related to registration processes and program preparedness\nLiaise with business systems and marketing for proper representation in online and print materials\nAssist with program development including networking, conducting research and assessing community needs\nEnsure recreation programs address service gaps, promote accessibility and inclusivity, and support the outcomes of the Recreation and Culture Strategy and departmental business plan.\nCollaborate with other facility and program supervisors to optimize space utilization and meet community needs\nCoordinate systems, procedures, and processes in support of the planning and implementation of indoor recreation programs across multiple facilities\nSupport course and class management and enrolment in program registration software\nCollect and analyze program data and programs evaluations to develop attraction and retention plans\nUnderstand utilization gaps and work collaboratively on effective use of space while meeting community need\nCollaborate with the Branch Accountant to manage operating budgets, maximize revenue opportunities, and implement cost-recovery strategies\nQualifications and Skills:\nPost-secondary Degree in Recreation Administration, Business, or related discipline with 2 years of related experience; or post-secondary Diploma with 4 years of related experience\nMinimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity \nCurrent Standard First AID with CPR-HCP, and WHIMIS is required \nProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with IntelliGenz software is an asset\nOH&S Supervisory courses are assets\nStrong interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills \nExperience and knowledge in change management\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously\nFlexibility to work irregular hours to provide supervisory support during peak times\nConditions of Employment:\nSubmission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check \nValid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits\nWe look forward to welcoming the successful incumbent with a start date of January 2027.\nWho We Are:\nStrathcona County is a specialized municipality located in the heart of Alberta.
