This role is ideal for an engineering student who has completed one or two years of post-secondary education and is interested in gaining hands-on field exposure within a thermal oil operation.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with field operations, maintenance, and production engineering staff, supporting day-to-day field activities while developing a practical understanding of how engineering decisions translate into safe and reliable operations.\nThis position is field-based and located in the Cold Lake region starting May 2027.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport daily field production activities through data gathering, review, and reporting \nWork alongside field operations staff to help troubleshoot well performance issues \nAssist with monitoring production, downtime, and operating performance trends \nSupport data quality reviews for wells, pads, and surface equipment \nAssist engineers and technologists with day-to-day tasks and special projects \nWhat You’ll Learn:\nHow thermal oil and SAGD operations function in a real-world field environment \nThe relationship between production engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety \nHow production data is collected, validated, and used to make operational decisions \nExposure to field equipment, instrumentation, and facility operations \nQualifications:\nCurrently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, or related discipline) \nCompleted at least one year of post-secondary studies \nStrong interest in field operations and hands-on learning \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills \nPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn \nAbility to work effectively in a team environment \nComfortable working in a field-based setting \nGreat things aren’t done by one person, they’re done by a team.\nWe believe meaningful results come from people with unwavering commitment to integrity, energy, and intelligence - how we show up matters just as much as what we deliver.
