Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.\nTo help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking Engineering Technicians to support a team doing design, integration, testing, and maintenance of hypersonic vehicles and related systems. This role will focus on environmental testing operations-including thermal, vibration, shock, and related test methods-to ensure systems meet rigorous aerospace standards.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nConduct Environmental Testing Operations\nDevelop and execute test activities, including operation of thermal chambers, vibration tables, shock equipment, and related instrumentation.\nExecute thermal cycling, vibration, shock, and combined environment testing per applicable aerospace and industry standards.\nEnsure accurate documentation, analysis, and reporting of test results\nMaintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.\n Support Systems Integration and Test Preparation\nDesign and fabricate of test fixtures, support equipment, and instrumentation setups.\nCreate test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.\nSupport test readiness reviews and coordination with engineering teams.\nTechnical Communication\nCommunicate project status, technical challenges, and solutions to engineering leads and test team management.\nTravel and Professionalism\nTravel as needed (<5%) to support department and test activities.\nDemonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments.\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\nRequired Qualifications:\n Experience in environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, etc.)\nKnowledge of environmental test methods, standards, and instrumentation.\nProficiency in using and executing test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.\nStrong hands-on experience with test equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.\nProven ability to communicate technical challenges.\nAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks\nExperience with complex aerospace system development and integration.\nAbility to quickly adapt to changing priorities.\nAbility to gain and maintain a DoW security clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with environmental test standards (e.g., RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RCC-319/324, SSC-S016).\nActive DoW Security clearance.\nExperience with data acquisition systems and advanced test automation techniques.\nRequired Computer Skills:\nData acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., NI LabVIEW, Curtiss-Wright IADS, or equivalent).\nFamiliarity with 3D CAD for test fixture design.\nMS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nPreferred Computer Skills:\nSiemens Capital/Mentor Graphics.\n3D CAD modeling experience - NX, CATIA, or Solidworks.\nFamiliarity with configuration management systems - Jira (preferred).\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\n Engr Tech I ($38.50-$52.88): 2-4 years as a technician in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with demonstrated leadership and strong proficiency in environmental testing.\n Engr Tech II ($43.25-$60.00): 4-6 years as a technician in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with demonstrated leadership and strong proficiency in environmental testing.\n Sr Engr Tech ($52.88-$64.90): 6+ years as a technician in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with demonstrated leadership and strong proficiency in environmental testing.\nSpecial Remarks Regarding Work Environment\nPosition is on-site based in Mojave, CA.\nTravel, as needed, to support the department (<5%).\n9/80 schedule\nBase salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.
