Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.\nStratolaunch is seeking a skilled, independent Facilities Technician with strong experience in Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance. This role is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, emergency response, and vendor coordination. Candidates must be reliable, safety-focused, organized, and able to manage work priorities with minimal supervision.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems, equipment, and building infrastructure.\nDiagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, breakers, panels, switches, low-voltage controls, and basic electrical equipment.\nMaintain and troubleshoot HVAC equipment, including air handlers, rooftop units, split systems, thermostats, exhaust systems, filters, belts, motors, and controls.\nRepair and maintain plumbing systems, including sinks, toilets, faucets, drains, water heaters, valves, piping, and fixtures.\nConduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, equipment issues, and facility repair needs.\nPerform general building repairs, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors, locks, ceilings, and minor concrete or masonry repairs.\nRespond promptly to maintenance requests, service calls, alarms, and facility emergencies.\nCoordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized work is required; verify work quality and completion.\nMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, materials used, and work orders.\nEnsure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, company policies, and environmental requirements.\nMaintain tools, equipment, inventory, and an organized work area.\nSupport facility improvement projects, equipment installations, renovations, and moves as needed.\nBe available for occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency call-out support, as required.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school, apprenticeship, or associate degree preferred.\n5+ years of facilities maintenance, building engineering, or multi-trade technician experience.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience in:\nElectrical troubleshooting and repair\nHVAC maintenance and diagnostics\nPlumbing repair and installation\nMechanical systems maintenance\nGeneral building repair and preventative maintenance\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills.\nAbility to read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and building plans.\nKnowledge of workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout, PPE, ladder safety, and safe tool operation.\nValid driver’s license and reliable transportation, if required for the role.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders, access confined or elevated areas, and perform physical maintenance tasks safely.\nAbility to work with others as a team and different projects not associated with your skilled trade.\nPreferred Qualifications, knowledge but certification not required\nEPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification.\nElectrical, HVAC, plumbing, boiler, or other trade certifications/licenses.\nExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and work-order platforms.\nExperience maintaining commercial, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or multi-site facilities.\nKnowledge of fire/life-safety systems, emergency generators, compressors, pumps, and basic controls.\nCore Competencies\nIndependent and accountable work style\nStrong mechanical aptitude\nClear communication and customer service skills\nAttention to detail and safety\nAbility to prioritize urgent repairs while completing scheduled maintenance\nProfessionalism, reliability, and a proactive approach to facility care\nWork Environment\nThis position works in a variety of indoor and outdoor facility environments and may be exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, moving equipment, and other typical maintenance conditions. The Facilities Technician must be able to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nA high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in electrical or HVAC technology or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a facilities management setting.\n\nSpecial remarks regarding work environment, if applicable\nThis position is located in Mojave, CA\n9/80 schedule\n$24.50-$33.77\nEligible for up to 8% annual bonus\nBase salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.
