We are looking for talented and experienced engineers who want to take ownership of hard problems and play a key role in bringing multiple platforms into production.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nStratom is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to support the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced autonomus robotic systems.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving and working across the full development process - problem definition, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.\nThe Robotics Software Engineer will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to develop reliable software systems while growing technical expertise in robotics software development including perception, navigation, state estimation, and autonomous behaviors.\nQualifications\n Requirements\nBachelor of Science in Robotics, Software, or Equivalent Engineering + 3 - 5 years experience\nMaster of Science in Robotics, Software, or Equivalent Engineering + 1 - 3 years experience\nExperience developing software for robotic applications\nProficiency with C++ programming languages\nExperience with modern software development practices (version control, unit testing, CI/CD).\nKnowledge of motion planning, navigation, mapping, or control systems\nUnderstanding of kinematics, dynamics, and state estimation (e.g., Kalman filtering)\nExperience developing on Linux-based systems\nAbility to work with sensors (LIDAR, cameras, IMUs), actuators, and microcontrollers\nExperience debugging hardware/software interfaces\nExperience executing functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests in a structured engineering environment\nPreferred Skills\nStrong Proficiency with C/C++, Python\nHands-on experience with ROS or ROS2\nExperience selecting sensors for robotic applications\nExperience developing and deploying autonomous behaviors for mobile robots\nExperience developing and deploying motion planning software for MDoF robotic arms\nExperience developing GUI applications for human-machine interfaces\nProficiency in simulation environment setup and management \n\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving skills and engineering judgment\nSelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nCollaborative team member with a hands-on approach\nWillingness to learn and take ownership of engineering challenges\nA Note About This Role\nThese qualifications represent the types of experience that tend to be successful at Stratom.
