Join us!\nThe Middle School Intervention Specialist, grades 6-8, works with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities to ensure that lessons and teaching strategies meet the students’ needs, teach independent living skills, and provide appropriate literacy, communication, and math skills.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nModify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state’s content standards to meet the unique needs of each student\n\nWrites and maintains compliant IEPs for students identified with special needs\n\nCollaborates with general education teachers to meet the goals of the student\n\nEducate parents on various instructional strategies\n\nPrepare appropriate documentation\n\nCoordinate and facilitate IEP meetings\n\nProctor achievement and other required testing to students including alternative assessments if required\n\nCollaborates with related services team to ensure IEP goals are developed and monitored\n\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong presentation skills\n\nOrganizational skills, multi-tasking abilities\n\nAbility to work without direct supervision\n\nFlexible schedule; Ability to travel as needed, up to 30% of the time\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nState of Ohio Intervention Specialist License\n\nBachelor Degree AND\n\nMinimum 1 year classroom experience OR\n\nEquivalent combination of education and experience\n\nMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency\n\nThe ability to clear required background check\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMaster’s Degree with an emphasis in Special Education\n\n3 or more years of classroom experience in Special Education\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
