The selected candidate will provide technical expertise and design recommendations to optimize the performance of our AWS cloud footprint. They will collaborate with architecture, security, and compliance teams to streamline processes related to shared concerns such as cloud costs, end-of-life systems, patch management, disaster recovery, and resource tagging, among others.Essential FunctionS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIEs:\nWork with development teams to design and implement cloud technologies within the parameters of Stride Governance policies.\nDocument and maintain cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.\nProvide expert advice and recommendations for building new solutions within the AWS platform.\nSet up, configure, and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.. for shared systems.\nCollaborate closely with the architecture team to ensure compliance of new solutions implemented in AWS..\nProvide guidance to the development teams for daily cloud systems support and troubleshooting activities.\nDesign, develop and maintain efficient processes and architecture improvements for managing shared systems and concerns through scripting, automation and reporting.\nAssist in troubleshooting shared concerns and systems using data extraction and analysis via AWS scripting and tooling.\nImplement security best practices to protect cloud environments and ensure compliance with industry standards\nCreate and maintain proper documentation, including system architecture diagrams and process documentation\nInvestigate, analyze, and assist with optimizing cloud resources (IOPS, CPU/EC2s, Memory, Storage/S3) for cost savings, performance, and reliability.\nBuild and test prototypes of new AWS services and features to validate technical suitability for improving existing systems and preparing for new solutions.\nParticipate in cloud architecture planning sessions and contribute to the development of cloud strategies.\nSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.\nMinimum Required Qualifications:\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS Cloud-based infrastructure and Linux systems\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nDesired Certificates and Licenses: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent.\nOTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nA passion for analysis, troubleshooting and a proactive and continuous learning mindset, with a passion for cloud technologies and career growth\nExpert knowledge of AWS cloud technologies\nExtensive knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles, design, security and compliance.\nExcellent troubleshooting skills to include AWS services and networking\nBackground and experience in Linux and Windows systems.\nStrong scripting experience with AWS CLI / SDKs in either Linux or Windows platforms\nStrong experience and understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform).\nStrong knowledge of source code control concepts, tooling and automated deployments\nPractical understanding of network fundamentals (e.g. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP).\nKnowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)\nExperience with performance testing and tuning.\nExperience with monitoring frameworks (e.g. CloudWatch, New Relic).\nExperience in designing and building application workloads in AWS using common AWS resource types like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.\nExperience with cloud optimization from both a performance and cost perspective.\nExperience with AWS cloud services pricing and utilization models.\nStrong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles and services\nKnowledge of disaster recovery solutions in AWS cloud (ex: site reliability engineering, multi-Availability Zone, Multi-Region)\nExperience collaborating across functional borders enterprise-wide (i.e. within and outside of IT)\nAbility to pass a required background check.\ndESIRED Qualifications:\nStrong experience with git source code control commands / tools\nAbility to adapt and succeed in an everchanging IT environment.\nExcellent Communication Skills and ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders including technical and non-technical team members.\nAbility to work independently without direct supervision.\nWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.\nWe anticipate the salary range to be $81,045.75- $140,000.00. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus.
