We work on some of the hardest technical, commercial, and regulatory problems around, and we’re looking for a product lawyer to join our team. In this role you will be a key advisor to Stripe’s product, engineering and partnerships teams, and will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle financial services, business processes, and technology.\nThe ideal candidate is passionate about Stripe’s mission of helping businesses grow and thrive. We’re looking for someone who is a team player and willing to jump in on tasks of any size. Stripe operates within a complex and interwoven legal, regulatory, and financial partnership environment around the world. \nWhat you’ll do\nCounsel the global product team on a range of issues relating to the adoption of artificial intelligence in all facets of Stripe’s business, including data protection and privacy law, consumer protection, and product development.\nClosely collaborate with teams across Stripe (including, engineering, partnerships, privacy and security teams) to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice to your clients on a range of issues related to the product development lifecycle - from initial scoping to launch\nDraft, review, and update internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for Stripe’s products and service offerings\nStay up-to-date (with the support of Stripe’s many legal subject matter experts) on laws and regulations dealing with consumer financial data access; analyze laws, regulatory updates, and industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product impacts \nServe as a proactive business partner to your product team and build a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input in evolving Stripe and its product roadmap and strategy\nWho you are\nWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nMinimum requirements\n8+ years of demonstrated experience either as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team working with technology companies (ideally the law that applies to cloud-based API service providers) on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the technology space\nPassion for working with technology and ability to understand complex operational and business models as well as multiple product use cases quickly\nA self-starter and self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously and efficiently\nAn owner’s mindset and high judgment, making principled, business-enabling decisions in highly ambiguous, fast-moving environments with incomplete information.\nStrong communication and relational skills and ability to work well cross-functionally with a sense of urgency, while remaining highly collaborative and fun\nExcellent project management and organizational skills to stay on top of shifting priorities and thrives working under tight deadlines\nExpertise in the legal, commercial, and regulatory dynamics of AI and tech services, including a command of global data privacy regimes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).\nStrategic thinking that enables business partners to make decisions that are
