Stripe is a financial infrastructure company founded in 2010 by the Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison, dual-headquartered in South San Francisco and Dublin. Its APIs let businesses accept payments, run marketplaces, issue cards, manage subscriptions and handle tax and compliance without building banking integrations themselves, and it processes well over a trillion dollars of volume a year for customers ranging from startups to the largest technology companies. Beyond payments the company has expanded into treasury and issuing, revenue and finance automation, stablecoin infrastructure through its Bridge acquisition, and fraud prevention powered by its own machine learning models.

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Corporate Security helps keep Stripe secure and Stripes safe by building practical, risk-based programs that enable the company to operate and grow. We are looking for an experienced Regional Security Manager to join our team. As the Regional Security Manager Americas at Stripe, you will be responsible for developing our core physical-security deliverables to office locations in the Americas (North America and parts of Latin America), and help evolve our program to support Stripe around the globe. You will work cross functionally within the Corporate Security team, and alongside other business teams at the company to keep Stripe secure and Stripes safe.

What you’ll do

As Regional Security Manager Americas, reporting to the Head of Global Security Operations, you will lead and continuously improve physical security operations across North America and relevant parts of Latin America. This is an individual-contributor role: you will manage regional contractors and vendor relationships, but will not directly manage employees at this time. You will translate regional risk into scalable programs, build trusted partnerships with internal teams and service providers, and help evolve Stripe’s global security operating model.

This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate will spend 50% of their time in one of our AMER office locations in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, or Chicago. We are not entertaining remote candidates at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Own regional physical-security operations for the Americas, including security governance, escalations, incident response, service delivery, and performance reporting; contribute to global programs as needed.
  • Partner with teams such as Workplace, People, IT, Events, business leaders, and external providers to deliver a security program that scales with business needs while preserving a high-quality employee and visitor experience.
  • Lead or coordinate risk, threat, vulnerability, and site-security assessments; document material risks; prioritize mitigations; and track delivery to closure. Conduct annual site-security assessments and risk reviews for company sites and relevant vendor sites to evaluate and improve controls in line with regional risk and established standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and test clear policies, standard operating procedures, and playbooks covering office security, escalation, incident documentation, event support, and crisis response.
  • Manage regional security contractors, service providers, and guard-force partners through defined scopes, service-level expectations, key performance indicators, quarterly business reviews, and corrective-action plans.
  • Partner with Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Environmental Health & Safety to ensure regional emergency and crisis-response plans are current, practicable, and exercised regularly.
  • Partner with the Security Systems team as a regional decision maker to define and support physical-security technology design for new offices, relocations, expansions, and significant workplace changes. Ensure appropriate CCTV, alarm, and access-control capabilities are in place, functional, and aligned to regional risk and escalation needs across the region’s offices.
  • Own regional operational planning and budgeting: forecast spend, identify cost and service improvements, and manage approved programs responsibly.
  • Design and deliver security-awareness and education initiatives that help employees make safer decisions and strengthen Stripe’s security culture.
  • Lead cross-functional security projects that reduce risk, improve resilience, and produce measurable operational outcomes.

Who you are

You are an experienced physical-security leader who pairs sound judgment with a practical, service-oriented approach. You can move comfortably between strategic program design and hands-on operational problem solving. You communicate clearly with executives, frontline partners, and vendors; make progress amid ambiguity; and build durable relationships across diverse geographic and business contexts.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible physical-security, corporate-security, or closely related risk-management experience supporting a multinational organization, including responsibility for operations in the Americas.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, operating, and measuring risk-based physical-security programs across multiple sites or jurisdictions.
  • Experience conducting risk, threat, vulnerability, or site-security assessments and translating findings into prioritized, practical mitigations.
  • Experience managing security vendors or guard-force/service-provider relationships through scopes of work, performance measures, service reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Experience leading or materially contributing to incident, emergency, or crisis-response planning and exercises.
  • Strong program and project-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and a demonstrated commitment to employee safety, privacy, and an inclusive workplace experience.
  • Ability to travel within the Americas and internationally up to 25%, including occasionally on short notice.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a technology, financial-services, or other fast-growing, globally distributed organization.
  • Experience supporting office construction, relocations, expansions, or physical-security system design.
  • Experience with access-control, video-surveillance, alarm, or other enterprise physical-security technologies and the governance that accompanies them.
  • Experience managing security operations at large scale public events.
  • Relevant degree, CPP/PSP, or comparable professional certification; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
  • Established professional relationships across the security industry, public-sector partners, or relevant regional networks.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish
