You enjoy working with software, hardware, clinical, quality, and other engineering partners and are motivated by the opportunity to develop technology that directly impacts patient care.\nWhat You Will Do\nSupport the design, development, implementation, and integration of features for Stryker's Mako robotic-assisted orthopedic platform, working across software, robotic systems, implants, and surgical instrumentation.\nTranslate clinical and user needs into engineering concepts, system requirements, design inputs, and acceptance criteria.\nDevelop and evaluate early concepts and prototypes to demonstrate feasibility, explore technical options, and inform design decisions.\nApply engineering judgment, experimentation, and trade-off analysis to select solutions that balance clinical, technical, and product requirements.\nWork hands-on with integrated robotic systems throughout development to evaluate performance, investigate unexpected behavior, and identify root causes.\nPartner closely with software, controls, mechanical, platform, and test engineers to bring system features from concept through detailed development and implementation.\nDevelop and maintain system requirements and supporting design documentation while contributing to requirements traceability and design control activities.\nCollaborate with verification teams to ensure requirements are measurable, testable, and supported by appropriate acceptance criteria.\nInteract directly with surgeons and other clinical stakeholders through customer discussions, evaluations, and cadaveric labs to better understand clinical workflows and incorporate feedback into product designs.\nAnalyze test and experimental data using appropriate engineering and statistical methods to support technical decisions.\nSupport features throughout the product development lifecycle, from early concept and prototyping through design, integration, commercial launch, and early post-launch support.\nStay current on emerging technologies and challenge existing approaches when new methods could improve product performance, usability, or development efficiency.\nWhat You Need\nBachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing, integrating, or testing robotic, electromechanical, mechatronic, or other multidisciplinary systems.\nExperience with hands-on concept development, prototyping, system integration, testing, or troubleshooting.\nExperience applying structured problem-solving to technical challenges, including developing concepts, evaluating alternatives, conducting experiments, and using data to make engineering decisions.\nExperience translating product, customer, or technical needs into engineering specifications, requirements, or design criteria.\nFamiliarity with technical programming, modeling, or scripting tools such as MATLAB, C, C++, Python, or similar.\nExperience in medical devices or another regulated or safety-critical industry.\nExperience with systems engineering practices including requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification.\nExperience with requirements management tools such as Jama or similar platforms.\nExperience developing test criteria, performing trade studies, or applying statistical analysis to support design decisions.\nExperience with algorithm development, modeling, simulation, or rapid prototyping.\nExperience working directly with customers, clinicians, or end users to understand needs and evaluate product concepts.\nStrong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across technical disciplines and adapt to changing priorities.\nUnited States of America Pay Ranges:\nUSN: $77,700 - $129,500 USD Annual\nUS5: $81,600 - $136,000 USD Annual\nUS10: $85,500 - $142,500 USD Annual\nUS15: $89,400 - $148,900 USD Annual\nUS20: $93,200 - $155,400 USD Annual\nUS30: $101,000 - $168,400 USD Annual\nView the U.S. work location and transparency guide to find the pay range for your location.Travel Percentage: 10%Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
