People who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, information, use cases, and industry analyses to develop best practices.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Senior Staff Engineer, DevOps is responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing DevOps, CI/CD, software configuration management, and release engineering practices across multiple product teams. This role provides strategic technical proficiency for software delivery, release management, infrastructure automation, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements applicable to medical device software development.\nWhat You Will Do:\nOwn, develop, and maintain the CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) infrastructure and pipeline independently for system and application software associated with embedded devices, enabling rapid and reliable delivery of release-ready software packages.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, quality assurance, product management, and infrastructure teams, to understand their requirements, provide guidance, and troubleshoot issues to deliver high-quality software.\n\nMonitor and improve the performance and reliability of CI/CD infrastructure and development environment through proactive monitoring, performance testing, and optimization.\n\nStay updated with the best practices for software development and the latest trends, tools, and technologies in software engineering and DevOps practices, and evaluate their suitability for the organization.\n\nBuild shippable software packages in accordance with quality management system procedures. Ensure each package is reproducible and ready for release. Provide comprehensive documentation, including required protocols and supporting materials.\n\nWhat You Will Need:\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or related discipline & 6+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer.\n\nStrong knowledge of Linux-based OS. Experience in Python, Shell scripting, and tools in CI/CD, build, static analysis, and software product security.\n\nKnowledge of containerization technologies and container orchestration platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in the following tools is a plus:\nCI/CD: Perforce, Jenkins, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory\n\nBuild: Make, Qbs\n\nContainerization: Docker\n\nStatic Analysis: SonarCloud, Clang-Tidy\n\nApplication Security: Black Duck\n\nEngineering Management Platform: Jama\n\nCode Coverage: Bullseye\n\nExperience in C/C++, CMake, Kubernetes, and Grafana.\n\nExperience implementing DevOps practices in software product development for medical devices or other regulated environments.\n\nGermany Pay Ranges:\n Freiburg/Stetten 39Std: €5.917 - €9.895 EUR Monthly\nAt Stryker, we believe transparency helps candidates make confident decisions about their next career step.
