{"id":2533724,"url":"https://alion.io/job/stryker-technician-engineering-2","title":"Technician, Engineering","company":{"id":2579,"name":"Stryker","domain":"stryker.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/stryker","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"A","score":85,"open_postings":159,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.604,"repost_share":0.013,"time_to_fill_p50_days":24,"computed_at":"2026-10-15T05:46:00Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Cork, Ireland"],"countries":["IE"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":17,"max":28,"currency":"EUR","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":62000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"AutoCAD","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T13:39:28Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-15T02:55:57Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"Work Flexibility: OnsitePerm role\n24/7 shift\nStryker Tullagreen\n\nWhat you will do:\nEnsure all maintenance activities and documentation is to GMP standards.\nEngage in mechanical / electrical / electronic/process troubleshooting, and in resolving hardware /software interfacing problems on the production floor, in collaboration with facilities functions.\nDevelop a technical knowledge of next generation equipment, working with team to ensure all technical issues are identified and eliminated at the earliest opportunity.\nLiaise with support functions to develop their knowledge of the equipment and ensure a system of continuous, shared learning is in place.\nDiagnose malfunctioning systems to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.\nInvestigate all build failures / Furnace failures causing scrap, determine root cause and implement corrective actions across all equipment.\nActively interface with cross-functional team members and 3rd party Vendors, always practicing good team work in support of day to day operating requirements.\nIdentifying and assisting the business with the implementation of technical improvements.\nRepair / troubleshoot systems, fixturing and processes, identifying root causes on system failures, and implement permanent solutions.\nCo-ordination of preventative maintenance and calibration activities on assigned lines, processes and / or areas.\nProvide process and maintenance improvements, initiatives using data analysis & trending reports.\nProvide technical support to the manufacturing business unit with new product introductions and transitions from other sites as required.\nParticipate in cross functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives.\nProvide support for equipment procurement and assistance in the execution of installations, validations, FATs, & SATs ensuring equipment added to the business is standardized where possible.\nEnsure weekly and monthly equipment uptime metrics for the Business Unit are available and that significant downtime is recorded and actioned.\nLiaising with Production Team Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers on issues relating to productivity, scrap and efficiency performance issues.\nEnsure compliance to site and divisional maintenance procedures.\nAll other duties as required.\nWhat you will need:\nCertificate/ Diploma in Engineering/Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical l& toolmaking or related discipline, is required.\nExperience in manufacturing (2 years + experience as a technician an advantage).\nGood knowledge of mechanical, electronics and software control systems.\nEntry level experience in a modern manufacturing environment ideally with previous experience in some or all of the following:\n- Low / medium voltage electrical power systems\n- Pneumatics\n- PLCs\n- Instrumentation\n- Hydraulics\n- Calibration\n- AutoCAD\nExperience in the medical device industry is an advantage.\nBusiness understanding of operations and there impacts essential.\nHigh level of PC Skills required.\nFlexibility essential.\nStrong communication skills with both Internal and external agents.\nSelf-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.\nIreland Pay Ranges:\n Ireland: €17.26 - €28.60 EUR Hourly\nAt Stryker, we believe transparency helps candidates make confident decisions about their next career step.
