As cloud adoption continues to grow, understanding and managing cloud expenditure becomes increasingly important. Cloud spending is often distributed across multiple teams, applications, and environments, making it challenging to identify optimization opportunities and gain clear cost insights.\n\nDuring this internship, you will explore how Artificial Intelligence can improve cloud cost visibility, optimization, and decision-making. You will work on practical AI solutions that help engineering teams better understand spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support proactive cloud cost management in a large-scale engineering environment.\n\nYour assignment\n\nIn this internship, you will collaborate with cloud architects, platform engineers, product teams, and FinOps stakeholders to identify where AI can add the most value in cloud cost management. Rather than focusing on theoretical research, you will develop and validate practical AI solutions that improve cloud cost visibility, forecasting, and optimization.\n\nYour main responsibilities will be:\nAnalyze cloud consumption and spending patterns across engineering environments\nDevelop AI-driven prototypes and proof-of-concepts for Cloud Cost Intelligence\nBuild AI agents that support cost attribution, optimization analysis, forecasting, and recommendation generation\nExplore how AI can improve cloud cost transparency and optimization activities\nMeasure the impact and business value of proposed solutions\nPresent findings, recommendations, and adoption guidance to stakeholders\nThis is a bachelor/master internship for a minimum of 5 months, minimum 4 days per week (2 days on-site, but flexible). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.\n\nYour profile\n\nTo be suitable for the internship, you:\nAre pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field\nHave programming experience in Python and familiarity with Java, JavaScript, or similar programming languages\nHave hands-on experience designing and building AI-driven applications, prototypes, or intelligent workflows\nHave knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, or Large Language Models\nHave strong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAre proactive, curious, and comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams\nOther requirements you need to meet:\nYou are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship;\nIf you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);\nYou attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;\nYou need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your application shows the willingness to relocate.\nThis position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
