This position identifies the highest-impact problems for teachers, students, and administrators and tests solutions with customers before moving tasks forward to the Technology department. This role decides what SWO should build and why.\nQualifications\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities -\nDiscovery and Validation:Continuously gather feedback and ideas through internal stakeholders, customer interviews, classroom observation, focus groups, and usage data from Pendo and GA4.\nResearch and monitor competitors' online products, performing regular competitor analyses for all assigned markets.\nGather feedback from customers and stakeholders on prototypes.\nMake data-driven recommendations for prioritization of the backlog.\nCollect and present ROI data to the executive team and other stakeholders to inform all of the why behind the backlog prioritization.\n\nDefinition and Prioritization:Own the gathering, validation, documentation, and prioritization of epics, features, and stories for the SWO backlog using Jira, Tableau, and other tools. Clear documentation includes a validated problem, supporting evidence, scope, and a success metric.\nWrite product briefs engineers can build from without a second round of discovery.\nDefine outcome metrics for shipped work and report on whether it moved them.\n\nInfluence and Communication:Present opportunities and risks of backlog candidates to the Executive team on a regular cadence.\nCommunicate fluently with Engineers about frontend and backend implications.\nCommunicate with Educators about standards, pedagogy, and assessment.\nCollaborate with both Product and Technology departments to evaluate the online format and technical feasibility to fully identify production requirements and roadmap timelines.\nWork closely with Product Analyst to gather, evaluate, and analyze data connected to feature opportunities.\n\nTravel:Travel several times a year for customer interviews, focus groups, and conference presence.\n\nEducation and Experience -\nExperience Requirements:Product Management: 3-5 years required\nMarket Research\nCompetitive Analysis \nProduct Development \n\nBachelor's degree in a business-related field\nPhysical Demands -\nThe employee is required to talk, hear, and see. Often, this position requires the employee to stand, sit, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, ascend and descend stairs. Also, to reach with arms and hands, and use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and manipulate keyboard keys. The employee is also required to lift up to 20 lbs.
