Daily Rate: $900-$1,000\nThe Fiber Optics Splicing Instructor position is responsible for teaching fiber optic installation, fusion splicing, ribbon splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and broadband deployment practices to a variety of NTT's clients. Instruction is delivered through classroom presentations, hands-on laboratory exercises, and field-based demonstrations for telecommunications, broadband, utility, construction, and industrial professionals.\nQualifications\nMinimum five (5) years of hands-on field experience performing fiber optic splicing, installation, testing, or network deployment within the last five years\n\nCurrent Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) certification\n\nCurrent Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Specialist - Splicing (CFOS/S) certification\n\nPrevious experience teaching, instructing, mentoring, or facilitating adult learners\n\nDemonstrated experience with fusion splicing equipment and fiber optic testing instruments\n\nExperience teaching classroom and hands-on lab courses in a professional or technical training environment\n\nWorking knowledge of fiber optic installation standards, testing methodologies, and industry best practices\n\nCurrent driver's license\n\nTechnical Knowledge and Experience\nFusion splicing techniques and applications\n\nRibbon splicing techniques and applications\n\nSingle-mode fiber systems\n\nMultimode fiber systems\n\nFiber optic cable preparation and termination\n\nSplice enclosure preparation and installation\n\nOptical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing and trace interpretation\n\nOptical loss testing and troubleshooting\n\nFiber characterization methods\n\nFiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment practices\n\nBroadband network deployment and maintenance\n\nFiber optic network troubleshooting and repair\n\nFiber optic safety procedures and industry standards\n\nSkills/Abilities\nAbility to communicate technical information to participants of all experience levels, including technicians, installers, contractors, supervisors, engineers, and project managers\n\nAbility to travel on a consistent basis throughout the United States and occasionally internationally\n\nAbility to interface with the Sales Department concerning customization of training programs\n\nProficiency in PowerPoint presentations and virtual training platforms\n\nAbility to communicate effectively via email and cell phone\n\nAbility to demonstrate and evaluate hands-on fiber optic splicing and testing techniques\n\nAbility to function independently in a highly efficient manner\n\nExcellent organizational and communication skills\n\nComputer literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite)\n\nProficient in public speaking and classroom facilitation\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdditional FOA certifications\n\nExperience with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber installations\n\nExperience with utility, telecommunications, broadband, or data center fiber networks\n\nCurriculum development or course customization experience\n\nExperience teaching certification preparation programs\n\nExperience delivering multi-day technical training programs\n\nNational Technology Transfer, Inc.
