It is a site for the dynamic exchange of ideas about art and society.\nJob Summary\nThe Communications Intern will work with the Communications Department to perform\nfunctions critical to communicating the Studio Museum’s mission and offerings to Museum\nstakeholders, the press, and our diverse audiences. The Communications Intern will learn about\ninstitutional voice, communications strategy, and media relations best practices, and will assist\nwith drafting copy for the institution’s administrative, programming, and exhibition needs, as well\nas perform administrative tasks to support the maintenance of the Communication Department’s\nrecords.\nApplicants must possess excellent writing and communication skills, superb attention to detail,\nbe highly organized, and be able to work independently. Must demonstrate familiarity with social\nmedia and online email marketing tools and must be adept at using both the Adobe Creative\nSuite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Microsoft 365. The Communications\nInternships are designed for mature undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent\ngraduates interested in careers in arts communications, media studies, social marketing, design,\nor related fields. If available, please provide a link to your design portfolio in the application.\nApplication Information\nThe Spring 2027 season will feature eight internship positions: Communications, Curatorial,\nDirector’s Office, Development, Education, Graphic Design, Public Programs, and Registrar.\nApplicants are encouraged to designate both a first and second choice for the positions they\nwish to be considered for in their cover letter.
