We're scaling a program that puts thousands of robotics kits, paired with AI-powered courses, into K-12 schools, colleges, and universities across the US, and we need someone who loves building things to help.\nYou'll work on the full kit, not just one piece of it. That means assembling and testing hardware like SO-101 robot arms and drone kits, 3D printing and designing parts, and then building the courses on Honen that teach students how to use what's in the box. Your work will be used by real students and teachers in real classrooms.\nThis is a hands-on role. You'll spend a lot of time at a workbench, and a lot of time figuring out how to explain what you just built to a student who's never touched a robot.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssemble, wire, calibrate, and test robotics hardware, including SO-101 arms, drone kits, and NVIDIA Jetson-based kits.\nDesign, model, and 3D print custom parts, mounts, enclosures, and replacement components.\nHelp decide what goes into each kit, source parts, and write bills of materials.\nWrite clear build guides, setup instructions, and troubleshooting docs that a teacher with no robotics background can follow.\nBuild robotics lessons and courses in Honen, including step-by-step projects, videos, quizzes, and hands-on challenges.\nWrite and debug starter code students use to control their robots, for example in Python.\nTest kits and courses end to end, find where people get stuck, and fix it.\nPhotograph and film builds for course content, marketing, and partner updates.\nHelp pack and prepare kits for school deployments, and support teachers once kits are in the field.\nBring ideas for new kits and projects to the team.\nWhat We're Looking For\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field. Strong self-taught builders are welcome too.\nHands-on experience building robots, drones, or electronics projects, through a club, team, class, or on your own.\nExperience with 3D printing and CAD (Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar).\nComfortable with basic electronics: wiring, soldering, motors, servos, and sensors.\nSome programming experience, ideally Python.\nGood at explaining technical things in plain language.\nPatient with debugging hardware that doesn't work the first time.\nOrganized and careful with parts, inventory, and documentation.\nExcited about getting students and new learners into robotics and AI.\nBonus Points\nExperience with the SO-101 / SO-100 arms, Hugging Face LeRobot, or other open-source robot arms.\nExperience with NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.\nDrone building or flying experience.\nROS or ROS 2 experience.\nFIRST Robotics, VEX, or similar competition experience, as a student or mentor.\nTeaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or curriculum writing experience.\nVideo editing or photography skills.\nWhat Strong Candidates Look Like\nWe care more about what you've built than what classes you've taken.
