The company provides architecture, engineering, planning, and construction management services for transportation systems, buildings, water, and other essential infrastructure. Operating through more than 60 offices across North America, the firm serves both public and private sector clients as a portfolio company of The Pritzker Organization.

STV is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Transportation team in Winston-Salem, NC. This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional who wants to help deliver meaningful roadway, highway, and bridge projects while playing a visible role in the growth of STV’s Construction Management and CEI practice across North Carolina.

In this role, you’ll work closely with clients, project teams, and field staff to support high-quality project delivery, strengthen client relationships, mentor emerging talent, and help expand STV’s presence in the region. You’ll have the support of an ENR Top 50 firm while contributing to infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, and connectivity for local communities.

This is a strong fit for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, values safety, and enjoys building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. If you’re looking for a leadership role with room to make an impact, grow a practice, and support a collaborative team, this opportunity offers a strong platform to do that.

  • Help recruit, mentor, and develop construction managers, engineers, inspectors, and field staff
  • Serve as Project Manager on select transportation projects, as needed.
  • Provide quality oversight for CEI project activities, deliverables, documentation, and field operations
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with clients, agency partners, and project stakeholders
  • Support proposals, qualifications packages, and technical pursuit materials.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, contract documents, and technical specifications
  • Communicate clearly with clients, project teams, and field staff to keep work moving safely and efficiently

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of highway construction administration and inspection experience
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential preferred
  • Familiarity with NCDOT, North Carolina municipalities, or public-sector transportation clients
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing, client communication, and coordination with project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead construction teams, promote safe work practices, and support successful transportation project delivery

At STV, you’ll join a nationally recognized transportation and infrastructure firm where your leadership, technical judgment, and client relationships can make a visible impact. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, help grow a regional CEI practice, mentor talented professionals, and contribute to safer, more connected communities. You’ll be part of a collaborative culture that values professional growth, high-quality delivery, and a healthy work-life balance
