This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months.\nIn this role, you will support and be mentored in all aspects of building and facility electrical design, ranging from field surveys, calculations, computer aided design (CAD), equipment selection, coordination with trades, maintaining client standards and relations, and other fundamentals of engineering and business. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport and be mentored in all aspects of building and facility electrical design.\nConduct field surveys, calculations, and computer-aided design (CAD) tasks.\nPrepare power systems AC and DC single-line diagrams, metering and relaying schematics, AC and DC control schematics, wiring drawings, substation equipment layout drawings, conduit routing drawings, cable schedules, and equipment mounting and installation drawings.\nDesign grounding grids, lightning protection, lighting, and related power distribution systems.\nAssist in preparing technical and cost proposals, as well as change orders for existing projects.\nInterface with railway clients, utility company representatives, and other departments within STV.\nDevelop schematic designs into construction documents under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.\nProvide designs and calculations for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.\nParticipate actively in all project phases from planning through construction close-out.\nCoordinate utility service layouts, power generation/storage, and power system distributions.\nUse AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Microsoft Word to assemble contract documents.\nConstruct electrical system models in SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower, and perform electrical calculations.\nDevelop designs using Revit and/or AutoCAD for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.\nPerform electrical calculations using specialized engineering software.\nPerform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.\nRequired:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.\nIntermediate proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD software.\nAbility to learn and use commercial AC power system analysis software for load flow simulation, short-circuit calculations, relay settings, coordination, and ground grid design.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$52,526.00 - $59,689.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
