The successful candidate will independently develop and analyze building energy models while working under the technical guidance of senior engineers and project managers.\nThe position will support HVAC design calculations, sustainable building design, energy-code compliance, life-cycle cost analysis, and high-performance building projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to client deliverables, and provide technical support to team.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop proposed and baseline whole-building energy models and perform HVAC system analyses using IES VE.\nReview architectural and engineering documents to establish building geometry, envelope assemblies, internal loads, operating schedules, and HVAC system inputs.\nEvaluate energy conservation measures, recommend energy-performance improvements, and perform life-cycle cost analyses of proposed alternatives.\nPerform daylighting, thermal comfort, ventilation, and airflow analyses, as required.\nPrepare energy-code compliance models and documentation in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, and applicable local and state requirements.\nReview simulation results, troubleshoot energy model issues, and perform quality-control checks on technical deliverables.\nPrepare technical reports, compliance forms, calculation packages, and presentations, and communicate findings to project teams and external stakeholders.\nWork independently while coordinating with2 other disciplines and staying current with energy codes, building technologies, electrification, decarbonization strategies, and industry best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.\nThree years of relevant experience in building energy modeling, HVAC design, building-performance analysis, or energy-code compliance.\nProfessional experience using IES VE to develop and analyze whole-building energy models.\nExperience with energy compliance modeling under ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, and applicable energy codes.\nWorking knowledge of HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, and equipment sizing.\nUnderstanding of psychrometrics, heat transfer, building physics, and building-envelope performance.\nAbility to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and other technical documentation.\nExpertise in technical writing, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports, calculations, modeling narratives, and compliance documentation.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.\n Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics and experience with ANSYS Fluent is a plus.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$95,975.90 - $109,686.74STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
