Working closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders, the project engineer will assist with project coordination, documentation, cost and schedule tracking, design and construction administration, and project closeout.\nThe ideal candidate has experience supporting healthcare, hospital, pharmaceutical, laboratory, life sciences, or other technically complex construction projects and is comfortable working in active and occupied facilities.\nResponsibilities\nSupport project managers throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.\nCoordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, facilities teams, and client stakeholders.\nAssist in monitoring design and construction activities for compliance with contract documents, project requirements, quality standards, and client objectives.\nMaintain and track project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change requests, meeting minutes, action items, logs, drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.\nAssist with tracking project budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, pay applications, and other project controls.\nMonitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and outstanding action items.\nReview drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contractor documentation and coordinate responses with the appropriate project team members.\nSupport project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on assigned actions and deliverables.\nAssist with bid packages, contractor coordination, procurement activities, and contract administration.\nConduct site observations, documenting construction progress, field conditions, potential issues, and coordination needs.\nSupport construction activities within active healthcare facilities while helping minimize impacts to patients, staff, facility operations, and continuity of care.\nAssist with coordination of utility shutdowns, equipment installation and relocation, commissioning, inspections, phased occupancy, punch lists, and project turnover.\nIdentify potential project risks or conflicts and work with the project manager and project team to develop appropriate solutions.\nBuild and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related field.\n3+ years of relevant construction, engineering, or project coordination experience, preferably supporting healthcare, hospital, pharmaceutical, laboratory, life sciences, or similarly complex projects.\nExperience supporting projects through design and construction phases.\nWorking knowledge of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change management, cost tracking, scheduling, and project controls.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and escalate project issues.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting an owner’s representative, program management, construction management, or project management team.\nExperience with renovation or construction projects in active or occupied healthcare facilities.\nFamiliarity with healthcare construction considerations, including Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), infection prevention, commissioning, phased construction, and facility turnover.
