We are seeking a motivated and analytical Project Controls Specialist II to join our growing Project Controls team in New York City.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading project managers, cost engineers, schedulers, and client stakeholders on some of the nation's most significant transportation, transit, infrastructure, aviation, and facility projects.\nPosition Summary\nThe Project Controls Specialist II will support project planning, cost management, scheduling, forecasting, performance reporting, and change management activities across multiple projects and programs. The successful candidate will help ensure project performance is accurately measured, monitored, and reported while supporting project teams in achieving schedule and budget objectives.\nThis position is ideal for an emerging project controls professional who possesses a strong understanding of project controls principles and is ready to take on increasing levels of responsibility supporting complex infrastructure and capital programs.\nResponsibilities\nCost Management & Forecasting\nAssist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, cost reports, and forecasts.\nMonitor project expenditures, commitments, and budget performance.\nPerform cost variance analysis and identify potential financial risks.\nSupport Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting and earned value reporting activities.\nReview invoices, pay applications, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.\nAssist project teams in identifying opportunities to improve cost performance.\nScheduling & Progress Tracking\nDevelop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools.\nMonitor project milestones, critical path activities, and overall schedule performance.\nSupport schedule analysis, schedule health assessments, and progress reporting.\nAssist with delay analysis and schedule recovery planning efforts.\nCoordinate schedule updates with project managers, technical teams, and client stakeholders.\nChange Management & Risk Analysis\nSupport change order tracking and documentation processes.\nAssist in evaluating schedule and cost impacts associated with project changes.\nMaintain project controls logs, risk registers, and supporting documentation.\nHelp identify project risks and participate in mitigation planning activities.\nSupport claims avoidance through accurate documentation and reporting.\nReporting & Performance Management\nPrepare recurring project controls reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.\nAnalyze project data and communicate trends, risks, and issues.\nSupport executive and client reporting requirements.\nDevelop and maintain reporting tools utilizing Excel, Power BI, and other project controls technologies.\nEnsure project controls documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company standards.\nCollaboration & Project Support\nWork closely with project managers, schedulers, cost engineers, construction managers, and client representatives.\nParticipate in project meetings and provide updates regarding project performance.\nSupport implementation of project controls standards, procedures, and best practices.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Controls Department.\nAssist with project audits, reviews, and client deliverables as required.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.\n0-5 years of project controls, scheduling, cost engineering, project management support, or related experience.\nExperience supporting transportation, transit, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or capital improvement projects.\nWorking knowledge of:Cost Management\nProject Forecasting\nCPM Scheduling\nChange Management\nRisk Management\nEarned Value Management (EVM)\nProject Performance Reporting\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.\nExperience utilizing Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling tools.\nStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced project environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting projects for public agency clients, transportation authorities, or large infrastructure programs.\nWorking knowledge of project management information systems (PMIS) such as e-Builder, Kahua, Unifier, Prism, or similar platforms.\nExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.\nFamiliarity with cost-loaded schedules and earned value methodologies.\nProfessional certifications or progress toward certification such as:AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP)\nPlanning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)\nPMI Project Management Professional (PMP)\n\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$75,656.68 -
