The successful candidate will be working at manufacturing sites and on a case-by-case basis at client sites to witness and verify Rail Cars and Rail Car Systems routine tests.\nThe ideal Rail Vehicle Test Technician we are seeking must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and testing, of Rail vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our clients’ requirements throughout the United States with potential international business trips if needed.\nThe candidate must be experienced and knowledgeable in the following areas:\nQuality Assurance and Quality Control programs as they relate to the Rail Vehicle industry.\nRail Vehicle systems, subsystems, and assembly knowledge.\nRail Vehicle testing and witnessing/supporting of such programs.\nElectrical systems testing including megger, High Potential (Hi Pot) and continuity testing.\nUnderstand test data, confirm compliance per test procedures, and highlight discrepancies accordingly.\nFamiliar with technical specifications, and contractual requirements.\nCollaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to resolve test-related issues and implement corrective actions.\nFamiliar with safety requirements and practices of the Rail Vehicle industry.\nPreparing weekly status reports for program management and client.\nEquipment calibration and control processes.\nSupport of First Article Inspection (FAI) and source inspection requirements.\nInterface with clients, suppliers, and third-party inspectors during test planning and execution.\nContribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies, tools, and documentation standards.\nRequired Skills\nTechnical School or Community College Education, or equivalent job experience.\nA minimum of 3 years of inspection and test witnessing experience, preferably in the rail or transit industry.\nExperience with Rail Vehicle Systems, and testing control programs and activities.\nFamiliarity with industry standards such as APTA, FRA, AAR, IEEE, and EN, as applicable.\nProficiency in data analysis tools and instrumentation systems (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nExcellent organizational and communication skills.\nWillingness to travel periodically and work in field or manufacturing environments as needed.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$58,804.00 - $66,822.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
