The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in rail design and construction projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with transit and transportation projects such as Metro and Metrolink.As a Rail Civil Engineering Specialist, you will focus on the design and production of planning and construction bid documents. You will have the opportunity to work under the direction of experienced engineers and learn rail design fundamentals.\nResponsibilities:\nUse Microstation and AutoCAD to design rail alignments, drainage systems, grading, and other guideway elements.\nParticipate in variety of planning, design, and construction projects.\nAssist in developing construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.\nParticipate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and develop content for these meetings.\nAssist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos.\n Qualifications:\nA bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.\nAn engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.\nA basic understanding of civil transportation engineering fundamentals.\nFamiliarity with civil design drafting software\nA strong desire to work with and help clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nA desire to work on large multidisciplinary rail projects with fast-paced schedules, which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.\nOther positive attributes\nExperience using Microstation InRoads, OpenRail, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$82,862.07 - $94,699.51STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
