This role is ideal for an experienced drainage and hydraulics engineer who is ready to take on greater technical leadership, guide complex design efforts, support public-sector clients, and mentor early-career staff while contributing to high-visibility transportation programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional looking to take their career to the next level and grow a Tennessee Water Resources Group.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nIndependently prepare culvert/bridge hydrologic & hydraulic studies\nIndependently prepare and submit stormwater permit documentation through various agencies\nParticipate in project development meetings\nServe as the lead drainage engineer and Engineer of Record on projects as directed by senior staff.\nProvide professional design services for transportation improvement projects, including storm drains, culverts, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control.\nCoordinate design development and assist with technical direction of junior staff\nAchieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget\nIndependently prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports\nEstablishing working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers\nMentoring supporting water resource design staff\nThe candidate will be independently designing and mentoring junior staff for successful project outcomes.\n Qualifications and Skills:\nBS in Civil Engineering\n10+ years’ of related experience\nPE licensure in TN or ability to obtain within 6 months\nTDOT design experience preferred\nTDEC Level I and Level II EPSC certification preferred\nExperience in design with highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.\nExperience or familiarity with OpenRoads Design (ORD) and/or Geopak\nCandidate should possess knowledge and experience of TDOT and Local government design and permitting requirements.\nExperience using hydrologic and hydraulic software such as Geopak Drainage, SUDA, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS modeling.\nExperience preparing permit applications for local, state, and federal agencies is a plus\nStrong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction\nCompensation Range:\n$132,708.77 - $151,667.16STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
