This is a leadership opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with a proven history of managing complex transportation projects from planning and preliminary engineering through final design, construction, and project closeout.\nThe successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, maintain responsibility for project performance, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.\nWhat You'll Do\nProject Leadership & Delivery\nLead large, complex transportation infrastructure projects from Preliminary Engineering through Construction Completion.\nManage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure successful delivery.\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, subconsultants, and technical specialists.\nOversee preparation and delivery of design documents, engineering reports, and project submissions.\nServe as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.\nClient & Stakeholder Management\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with NJDOT, NJTA, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and project partners.\nFacilitate collaboration among project teams, clients, and stakeholders.\nLead project meetings and provide clear communication on project status, risks, and milestones.\nSupport public outreach initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.\nRegulatory & Technical Oversight\nEnsure compliance with NJDOT, FHWA, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.\nManage environmental review efforts and coordinate NEPA documentation and approvals.\nOversee quality management processes and adherence to transportation design standards.\nProvide technical guidance on highway, bridge, structural, traffic, utility, and roadway improvement projects.\nConstruction Support\nSupport construction engineering and inspection activities during project delivery.\nReview shop drawings, construction schedules, and contractor submissions.\nCoordinate Change of Plans and other construction-phase engineering activities.\nWork closely with construction teams to resolve technical challenges and support successful project execution.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.\n Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey.\n15+ years of progressive transportation engineering and project management experience.\nDemonstrated experience managing major transportation projects for NJDOT, NJTA, or similar public agencies.\nStrong leadership, communication, and client management skills.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholders.\nSuccessful management of a NJDOT project as PM through construction\nPreferred Experience\nSuccessful candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:\nTransportation Design\nHighway and roadway design\nGeometric design\nDrainage and stormwater systems\nTraffic engineering and roadway safety\nIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)\nPavement design\nMaintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT)\nRight-of-Way (ROW) engineering\nUtility coordination and relocation\nStructural Engineering\nBridge replacement and rehabilitation\nGeotechnical and foundation design\nRetaining walls\nStructural and substructure design\nEnvironmental & Regulatory\nFHWA and NEPA processes\nEnvironmental documentation and agency coordination\nConstruction Engineering\nShop drawing reviews\nConstruction schedule reviews\nChange of Plans development\nConstruction-phase coordination and support\nWhy Join STV?\nLead some of New Jersey's most significant transportation improvement programs.\nWork directly with NJDOT, NJTA, and key public-sector stakeholders.\nManage multidisciplinary teams on high-visibility infrastructure projects.\nPlay a critical leadership role in improving transportation networks across the region.\nCompensation Range:\n$160,647.46 - $183,597.09STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
