This includes Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, San Jose, and San Francisco.\nTraction Power Engineer - Activities involve the design, for traction electrification projects.\nResponsibilities:\nWork as member of team to develop electrical designs for traction electrification systems from concept through construction administration.\nManage multiple projects internally with different project teams.\nGenerating and help ensure designs are in compliant with the companies’ principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration.\nCoordinating design efforts with; and learning from architecture, engineering, manufacturing, systems, and construction teams.\nCoordinate and collaborate with the other regional systems team to develop and maintain standards across all STV projects.\nWorks with engineering design group on the development of modelling tasks.\nPerform detailed modelling of electrical systems which interface with other design disciplines which may including piping, ducting, and equipment.\nCoordinate with other disciplines in a collaborative 3D construction environment.\nRequired Skills:\nSupports and leads the semi-complex planning of detailed product development objectives.\nParticipates and leads in the preparation of semi-complex sketches, design layouts, and other specifications.\nProvides support in semi-complex review of results to determine that products perform in the intended manner.\nParticipates and provides technical assistance on design feasibility.\nAssists in standardizing semi-complex materials, components and assemblies.\nParticipates in maintaining detailed and comprehensive records of all inventive ideas, designs, and basic improvements.\nProvides support in documenting product issues for future reference and problem resolution.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work with others, including multidisciplinary staff in different offices.\nTraction power experience include but not necessarily limited to the following elements Electrical House, AC Medium Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Rectifiers, DC Switchgear, overhead contact systems, electric charger technology for mass transit. This includes AC and DC single line diagrams, metering and relaying schemes, substation equipment layout, conduit and cable layout, equipment installation detail drawings, grounding grid layout, power distribution and lighting system design.\nExperience with DC traction power system load flow studies and the development of traction power system designs based on load flow study results.\nKnowledge of commercial AC power system analysis software (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, grounding grid design).\nKnowledge of DC traction power system load flow analysis software is a plus.\nProficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation platform.\nExperience with BIM and Navisworks.\nProject management and monitoring of project budgets.\nKnowledge of project proposal preparation is a plus.\nProficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nBachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. \nProfessional Engineering (PE) license is required. 20+ years of experience, in lieu of license, will be considered. \n20+ years of experience in the design/construction/testing traction substations and power distribution systems in the transit/railroad industry or electric utility sector.\nCompensation Range:\n$162,010.86 - $185,155.27STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
