STV is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Specialist to join our growing regional structural team. In this role, you will contribute to bridge design, assessment, rehabilitation, and plan production of bridges while gaining valuable experience in both office and field settings.\nYou will partner with experienced engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams who are committed to sharing knowledge and supporting your growth. This is an opportunity to expand your engineering capabilities through a combination of design assignments, field experience, and increasing project responsibility.\nThe position may be based in Frisco, Dallas, or Austin, TX, or Oklahoma City, OK. Project-related travel may be required.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nApply your technical knowledge to perform structural engineering calculations and bridge load ratings.\nPrepare and review design calculations for new and existing bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation structures.\nContribute to bridge assessments, evaluate repair options, and help develop construction drawings and specifications.\nApply applicable AASHTO, AISC, ACI, and state transportation agency criteria to engineering assignments.\nUse structural analysis, design, modeling, and plan-production software to support project delivery.\nCollaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary team members to keep schedules, deliverables, and project activities moving forward.\nParticipate in field assignments, site visits, bridge assessments, and any construction-related activities as needed.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.\nEngineer-in-Training certification, or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable period after joining STV.\nWorking knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI design codes.\nFoundational knowledge of structural analysis and the behavior and design of steel and reinforced concrete.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technical tools.\nClear verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.\nAdditional Qualifications That Will Help You Succeed:\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.\nFHWA-NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges certification.\nAn understanding of structural analysis and the design of prestressed concrete structures.\nExperience with structural analysis and design software such as OpenBridge Designer, LARSA, LEAP Bridge, CSiBridge, and STAAD.\nExperience contributing to Department of Transportation projects and familiarity with design manuals and standards.\nExperience using bridge and roadway design platforms such as OpenBridge Modeler, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).\nExposure to field assignments, construction support, or evaluation of existing structures.\nWhy STV: At STV, you will be part of a welcoming, collaborative team working on transportation projects that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
