This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist in the design and analysis of bridges and other structures, applying engineering principles and techniques.\nSupport the preparation of design calculations, construction drawings, and technical reports.\nParticipate in the inspection and rating of existing structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.\nCollaborate with senior engineers to develop and present design information, including organizing and interpreting data.\nEngage in both office-based tasks and on-site activities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering processes.\nAssist in preparing project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations.\nLearn and apply relevant industry standards and best practices in structural design and inspection.\nPerform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.\nRequired:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.\nFamiliarity with bridge inspection procedures (e.g., NBIS - National Bridge Inspection Standards).\nExposure to structural analysis software such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or CSI Bridge.\nUnderstanding of load rating calculations for bridges.\nBasic knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods used in bridge inspections.\nExperience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit for drafting and detailing.\nUnderstanding of AASHTO and DOT standards related to bridge design and inspection.\nExposure to structural materials (steel, concrete, timber, and masonry) and deterioration mechanisms.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$41,107.00 - $46,713.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
