This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level students to work alongside experienced structural engineers and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to structural engineering practices while supporting high-quality projects throughout various phases of design and construction.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist with structural design and analysis tasks for water and wastewater facilities under the guidance of licensed engineers.\nSupport the development of structural plans, layouts, and design concepts.\nHelp prepare drawings, sketches, and calculations for incorporation into construction documents.\nConduct research on design options, codes, and standards applicable to water and wastewater structures.\nAssist with basic calculations such as structure heights and weights, concrete quantities, and equipment fit-up.\nSupport cost estimating efforts, including quantity take-offs and gathering vendor information.\nReview shop drawings and technical submittals with oversight from senior staff.\nParticipate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.\nAssist with field observations and documentation of existing conditions or construction progress, as needed.\nUse computer-assisted engineering and design software to support project documentation and analysis.\nRequirements:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.\nStrong interest in structural engineering within the water and wastewater industry.\nFamiliarity with structural analysis or design software is a plus (e.g., finite element modeling tools, Autodesk platforms).\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$47,959.00 - $54,498.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
