This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful transportation projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with traffic engineering studies, transportation planning, and traffic design projects.\nConduct traffic simulation and operational analyses using software such as VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS.\nAssist with the preparation and review of traffic impact studies, technical reports, and analysis documentation.\nSupport transportation safety analyses involving vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists.\nAssist with traffic signal operations, signal coordination and timing, and pedestrian and bicycle facility analysis.\nDevelop design concepts and assist with roadway signing, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic plans using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.\nSupport multidisciplinary project teams by providing traffic engineering input for environmental studies, roadway design, and Design Approval Documents.\nCoordinate with project team members and assist with communication with state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and local agencies.\nAssist with data collection, analysis, and the preparation of technical proposals and business development materials.\nParticipate in public information meetings and other project-related activities.\nPerform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.\nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.\nExposure to MicroStation and AutoCAD drafting software.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with NCDOT.\nFamiliarity with traffic operations, transportation planning, and traffic engineering principles.\nExposure to HCS traffic operational analysis software.\nFamiliarity with traffic signal design, traffic safety analysis, and roadway design elements.\nExperience with transportation data analysis, crash data analysis, or pedestrian and bicycle safety studies.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$45,675.00 - $51,903.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
