This internship offers hands-on experience working with utility providers, engineering teams, and transportation professionals to identify utility conflicts and support relocation planning before construction begins.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with identifying utility conflicts by reviewing highway construction plans, drainage plans, specifications, and utility records.\nSupport utility relocation planning for water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications facilities.\nAssist with preparing utility coordination documents, relocation plans, schedules, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes.\nSupport coordination with utility owners, NCDOT representatives, contractors, and other project stakeholders.\nAssist with preparing and reviewing Utility by Others (UBO) plans and related project documentation.\nLearn to interpret Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) data and identify potential utility conflicts.\nAssist with utility cost documentation, relocation agreements, and environmental permit drawings.\nParticipate in field visits, site investigations, and utility coordination meetings as needed.\nUse MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Office to support project deliverables.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop practical solutions to utility conflicts.\nPerform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.\nMinimum Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a two-year degree. \nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications or equivalent.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or other engineering design software.\nExposure to transportation engineering, utility coordination, or infrastructure projects.\nKnowledge of ProjectWise or other document management systems.\nInterest in utility relocation, roadway design, and public infrastructure projects.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$45,675.00 - $51,903.00STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
