The work comprises of managing various resources to determine utility conflicts and subsequent utility relocations and oversee the relocation of utilities prior to construction contract commencement.\nThis role offers unlimited opportunities to maintain existing client relationships, broaden STV’s service offerings geographically, be involved in major transportation projects, mentor junior staff, all while promoting the culture of a healthy work-life balance.\nJob Responsibilities\nDevelop utility relocations strategies and provide coordination/relocation services to accomplish removal, relocation, and modification of utility facilities (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunication, etc.)\nMust be able to interpret highway construction plans, drainage summaries, specifications, etc. to identify utility impacts\nMust have working knowledge of all policies, regulations, and engineering standards set forth by the Federal Highway Administration, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, and all application NC General Statutes related to utility relocation\nKnowledge of innovative construction methods while adhering to all environmental regulations and roadway design standards\nMust have strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks/projects\nSchedule and conduct utility meetings with NCDOT, utility owners, and contractors. Prepare meeting agendas and minutes\nProficiently and professionally communicate technical information\nWork closely with other design disciplines to determine most practical utility conflict resolutions\nMust be familiar with the Subsurface Utility Engineering process and interpreting data\nDetermine cost responsibility (prior rights) and assist utility owners with preparation of utility agreements, relocation plans, and relocation schedules\nPerform QA/QC of utility relocation packages for submittal to NCDOT\nPrepare and QA/QC Utility by Others (UBO) plans in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.\nPrepare Environmental Permit drawings and narratives\nAttend field meetings and site investigations as required\nProficiency with Microsoft Office software or equivalent\nExperience with NCDOT Utilities Accommodation Manual\nOccasional overnight travel may be required\nSpecific Requirements:\nApplicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of related experience. \nCandidates must hold a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.\n5+ years experience in MicroStation v8i and/or OpenRoads Designer software\nKnowledge of ProjectWise software is preferred\nCompensation Range:\n$124,726.29 - $142,544.33STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
