The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in water resources engineering and demonstrated experience with stormwater management and floodplain mapping/modeling.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex water resources challenges, working with multidisciplinary teams, and developing practical solutions for public-sector and infrastructure clients.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs a Water Resources Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of water resources projects. Responsibilities may include:\nPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watersheds, drainage systems, streams, rivers, and floodplains.\nDevelop, modify, calibrate, and review hydrologic and hydraulic models.\nPerform floodplain studies and mapping analyses in support of State and local floodplain management programs.\nSupport preparation of C/LOMR studies, floodplain mapping updates, and related flood-risk analyses.\nPerform stormwater management and drainage studies for municipal, site development, and infrastructure projects.\nEvaluate existing drainage and flood-control systems and develop recommendations for improvements.\nDesign and evaluate stormwater management facilities, drainage systems, culverts, channels, detention/retention facilities, and related infrastructure.\nPerform watershed delineation, drainage-area analysis, and spatial analysis using GIS.\nPrepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, reports, exhibits, maps, and other project documentation.\nAssist with preparation of plans, specifications, technical requirements, and construction documents.\nSupport permitting and coordination with municipal, state, and federal agencies.\nParticipate in field investigations, site assessments, and data collection.\nCoordinate with civil, transportation, environmental, structural, geotechnical, GIS, and other technical disciplines.\nAssist project managers with project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.\nParticipate in client meetings and communicate technical findings and recommendations.\nSupport proposal development, technical presentations, and other business development activities.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.\nWhat You’ll Need\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.\nMinimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in water resources engineering, stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain management, or a related field.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure is preferred.\nDemonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, SWMM, HydroCAD, or equivalent platforms.\nExperience with stormwater management, drainage analysis, watershed studies, or flood mitigation.\nExperience with flood mitigation and resilience planning.\nExperience with floodplain mapping and FEMA flood studies is strongly preferred.\nExperience with 1D and/or 2D hydraulic modeling is desirable.\nProficiency with ArcGIS or other GIS software.\nStrong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, open-channel flow, drainage systems, and floodplain principles.\nStrong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments and meet project schedules and deadlines.\nPreferred Qualifications\nP.E. license.\nCertified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.\nExperience with FEMA Risk MAP programs and floodplain studies.\nExperience preparing or supporting LOMRs, CLOMRs, or other FEMA map revisions.\nExperience with municipal stormwater master planning.\nExperience with green infrastructure, low-impact development, or nature-based stormwater solutions.\nFamiliarity with federal, state, and local stormwater and floodplain regulations.\nExperience with Civil 3D or other civil design software is a plus.\n\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.\nCompensation Range:\n$95,975.90 - $109,686.74STV offers the following benefits\nHealth insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nFlexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable)\nDisability insurance\nLife Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment\n401(k) Plan\nRetirement Counseling\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off\nPaid Holidays\nBack-Up Dependent Care\nParental Leave\nContinuing Education Program\nProfessional Licensure and Society Memberships\nSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
