Preference will be given to suitably qualified local candidates in accordance with Bermuda immigration and employment requirements.\nThis position may be particularly suitable for college leavers or recent graduates who have completed an Electrical Engineering qualification and are looking to gain practical, hands-on industry experience. Applications are welcome from all candidates who meet the role requirements.\nKey Deliverables:\nConduct Fibre Optic and Electrical tests of customer owned stock cables.\n\nMaintain Site Electrical Equipment, ensuring it is safe to use and PAT Tested where applicable.\n\nThe safe execution of any duties that may be required in the storage, movement and disposal of submersible plant as required by cable maintenance and Marine Plant & Storage Facility, Bermuda agreements.\n\nThe operation and maintenance of cable machinery, lifting equipment and any other machinery associated with the movement of cable and plant as directed by the Bermuda Cable Technician or his/her Line Manager.\n\nTo provide holiday cover for the Bermuda Cable Technician and in such instances to work with temporary staff on cable tank or other related duties and to instruct and supervise such staff, to ensure safe and efficient practices are employed.\n\nThe Bermuda Depot can be called upon at any time throughout the year to complete cable operations; as such, depot staff may be called upon outside normal working hours and during public holidays.\n\nTo maintain all depot plant, machinery and associated areas in good clean working order and to ensure operational readiness at all required times.\n\nMaintain Electronic records and Databases associated with all depot activities.\n\nTo perform general work required for the site maintenance and not necessarily associated with the cable storage function.\n\nPerform operations in accordance with the statutory Global Marine Systems Ltd safety policies or general procedures.\n\nQualifications, Skills and Experience:\nBasic Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent).\n\nWorking knowledge of health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.\n\nStrong safety awareness and compliance mindset.\n\nComputing skill required in database management, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).\n\nThe ability to communicate effectively with customers, ships personnel and contract staff.\n\nThe ability to lead and work effectively as part of a small team.\n\nAbility to lead or direct others during operations (Toolbox Talks, task coordination).\n\nWillingness to work flexible hours / shift patterns to support 24/7 operations.\n\nGood organisational skills and ability to work on one’s own initiative.\n\nAbility to communicate using two-way radios.\n\nDesire to progress qualifications and experience.\n\nAble to travel to UK for training if required.\n\nDesired:\nAdvanced Electrical Installation (Level 3)\n\nNTB Trade Test Certificate - Electrician\n\nBS 2391 LEVEL 3 (City and Guilds) INSPECTION & TEST\n\nBS 2377 LEVEL 3 (City and Guilds) EQUIPMENT TESTING\n\nFibre Optic Testing Experience\n\nBermuda Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Certificate\n\nWorking at Heights Certification\n\nManual Handling Certificate\n\nLock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) / Electrical Safety Awareness\n\nAppropriate qualifications and experience in operation of lifting equipment and mechanical aids.\n\nLocation: On-site 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) at Bermuda Depot.
